    Tell Your Story

We are collecting stories from people across Victoria about their experiences in community sport—whether you’ve felt welcomed, included and celebrated, or excluded and overlooked. By sharing your story, you’ll help to inform our research and be used (with permission) to spark dialogue in an interview about your sports club. We want to hear your story and learn how you feel in your sports environment. Please share photographs, videos, artistic/creative designs or write about your sports experiences that have influenced your feelings of inclusion/exclusion and equity/inequity. We have a plan to handle what you share sensitively.
  • About the focus groups

Your club has been identified as part of: United on the Field: Enhancing Equity and Inclusion in Community Sport. As part of this study, we are conducting 1:1 interviews that will discuss your experiences of equity/inequity and inclusion/exclusion in community sport participation. The interview will be conversational and based on photographs, videos, or stories which you (or your teammates) have taken that influence inclusion/exclusion and equity/inequity at your local sporting club. For more information, please read the explanatory statement that was sent to you via email. If you have any issues or questions, please contact Nadia at nadia.bevan@monash.edu
  • Demographics

We will ask for some details about yourself below. These questions are to provide us with some context about you and your sports setting and help to frame the focus groups questions. The demographics are optional to complete, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can do so, or if you are happy to share your details so we know about you in context of your interview, that would be helpful. Before we use anything you upload beyond your interview, we will check with you (via email) to confirm if you are okay to use (see options at the end). Any demographic information you provide here will be de-identified in any outputs (e.g. publications, reports, presentations etc), except possibly the sport you play.
