Junior Coach of the Year

The USTA Southern NM Region honors one person each year for outstanding work as a junior coach.
PURPOSE: To recognize a junior coach who is making a difference in junior tennis players’ lives through a tennis program.
CRITERIA: Among the criteria to be considered when nominating:

1. Number of years coaching a junior tennis program; Success
2. Number of participants/players regularly within the program
3. Does the coach offer off-season tennis programs/tournaments for junior players, e.g. involvement of the coach in junior tennis outside of the high school tennis program?
4. How many participants/players have participated in USTA Jr. Team Tennis, junior satellite events or compass draw tournaments, or sanctioned junior USTA competitive tournaments?
5. Supports development of the total person, serves as role model/mentor
6. Helps foster support/recognition of tennis program within the community
