2026 Jazz Band Festival Dates:

Thursday, March 5, 2026 and Friday, March 6, 2026.

NEW: Community Band Registration

Community Bands will be scheduled in the evening between 6:00pm - 9:45pm
Community Bands must hold a Community Band membership in order to receive the MBA member rate. Please visit www.mbband.org/membership for more information.
Community Bands may choose to offset the cost of their registration fees by providing volunteers to help run the festival.
1. Volunteer slots are approximately 4-5 hours long.
2. Provide 10 volunteers, and receive 50% off, or 20 volunteers for 100% discount.
3. Volunteer hours are available on a first come, first served basis.

Please use the following as a guideline for Class entry. The Beginner Class is non-competitive only.

Adjudication Selection*

Beginner class is comments only. Select CO to perform for Comments Only. Ensemble with players beyond high school age will perform for comments only.

Scheduling comments:

Scheduling is dependent on completed registration date. Schedule will begin with the Beginner class on Thursday morning; Junior on Thursday afternoon and during the day; Intermediate, Senior, Advanced, and Community Bands in the evening between 6:00 - 9:45pm . Please register early if you are noting a scheduling consideration above (in-service, ski trip, etc...). Note that although we will try to accommodate scheduling requests, they cannot be guaranteed.

Repertoire Selections: Titles are required by January 16, 2026. Please submit online via this form.

Adjudicator Scores: You will need 2 original (non-copied) scores for festival adjudicators. Please bring them with you to the festival site.

Band Biography: Please submit Band Bio by March 2, 2026. Please complete online via this form.

Conductors of school bands must be a Manitoba Band Association member to qualify for the member registration rate discount. To become a member, please visit mbband.org/membership

Registration includes photo package for the ensemble.

No GST or PST is charged.

The date each payment is received is a significant scheduling consideration.

Registration is Non-Refundable after the registration deadline: Friday, November 14, 2025.
