  • YPEI is always in need of tutors to provide peer academic support. We have several dedicated time slots for study halls where students may need assistance in math, english, computer literacy, or a course specific topic. Peer tutors generally go in once per week for 2-4 hours. This does not include driving time to and from from the facility. In-Person Volunteering requires a facility orientation, background check, and preferably a drivers license. 

     

    YPEI does not directly fund peer tutors. Unless funded through Dwight Hall or other outiside source, this is an UNPAID, VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY.

    I understand that as a volunteer of YPEI at Dwight Hall and member of the Yale  University community I may have access to confidential information, including education  records or material, student essays, student identification numbers, and personal records, of students both inside and outside the University and the College. I understand that the  confidentiality of these records and documents is protected by state and federal law and Yale policy and that I may not disclose them to anyone without express written  permission. I understand that I may not share the identities, names, or other identifying  information of any of YPEI’s incarcerated students without express written permission. I  understand that should I fail to maintain the confidentiality of records or documents that I  receive in the course of my employment I may be subject to discipline, up to and including criminal prosecution.
