2025/2026 CWC Membership Application

For over 65 years, the Calgary Winter Club (CWC) has been a cornerstone of community, cultivating a welcoming and vibrant environment where members thrive through shared values of integrity, community, wellness, and respect. Our dedication to fostering an inclusive and engaging space—where families create lasting friendships and enjoy enriching health and social experiences—sets the CWC apart as an exceptional place to belong.

The membership application and admissions process typically takes four to six weeks, during which applicants do not have access to the Club’s facilities. Each application is thoroughly reviewed by our Membership Committee, made up of exisiting CWC Members, to ensure prospective members align with our values. To uphold the high standards of our membership, we request that all information provided during the application process be truthful, accurate and complete.

If an applicant is unable to meet the application requirements, the Membership Committee may request a virtual or in-person interview to further support their application or they may suggest reapplying at a later date when the applicant is able to provide the application requirements.

Please note that the Calgary Winter Club reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny any application for Shareholder Membership.

Membership at the Calgary Winter Club represents both an upfront and ongoing financial commitment. This includes the purchase of a $100 Calgary Winter Club share, a one-time, non-refundable and non-transferable entrance fee, and the payment of annual dues for each active family member on the membership account.

Current Entrance Fee for Family Membership: $55,000 + GST.

Current Entrance Fee for Single Membership: $35,000 +GST

A Family Membership may include up to two adults (legal spouses residing at the same address) and their biological, adopted, or stepchildren up to the age of 34. If a spouse or adult child (18+) wishes to join at a later date, a separate application will be required.

A Single Membership is limited to one adult, and the addition of family members is not permitted. Single Memberships may be upgraded to a Family Membership by paying the difference in entrance fees at the time of the upgrade.

Referring Members

As part of the membership application and admissions process at the Calgary Winter Club, each applicant is requested to provide two references from current, active CWC members in good standing. Referring Members play an essential role in ensuring that prospective members align with the Club’s values, culture, and community spirit.

To qualify as a Referring CWC Member, individuals must meet the following criteria:

Are not an immediate family member to the applicant
Be an active Member in good standing for at least the past 12 months
Be at least 30 years of age
Have known the applicant for a minimum of two years
Be able to provide a reliable account of the applicant’s character and suitability for CWC membership.

If you are unable to provide two references from existing CWC Members, you will be asked to submit a character reference from one of the following:

A Professional Colleague or Supervisor
An Academic Reference
A Professional Association
