Please note that no recruiting/soliciting of drivers is permitted at this event.

Competition Divisions:

• 2 Axle Straight Truck
• 5 Axle Tandem – Tandem
• 5 Axle Tandem – Tandem (Management/Trainer/Non-Driver)

* A minimum of 5 competitors are required to hold any division.

Event organizers reserve the right to cancel an advertized competitor class or postpone/cancel the event should minimum registration requirements not be met. In such cases, registrants will be notified in advance.

Awards will also be given for:

• Rookie of the Year (First Year Competing)
• Top Team

Competition Prizes:

2 Axle Straight Truck & 5 Axle Tandem:

• 1st Place - $300.00
• 2nd Place - $200.00
• 3rd Place-Free Registration for 2027 Atlantic Driving Championship

5 Axle Tandem – Tandem (Management/Company Trainer/Non-Driver)

• Trophies/Plaques to be awarded for the top 3 competitors.

Registration Fee:   $150.00 + HST per Competitor

The Registration Fee does not include your ticket to the awards banquet & auction.

Banquet Tickets:

• $60.00 + HST for Adults
• $30.00 + HST for Children (under 12)

Accommodations:

Our host hotel for the event is the Inn on Prince Hotel & Conference Centre – 437 Prince St., Truro, NS

We have reserved a block of rooms for the event for both Friday & Saturday night - $159.00 + HST per night. This includes complimentary breakfast.

Please call the hotel at (902) 895-1651 and reference the Atlantic Driving Championship. Rooms are limited, book early to qualify for this rate. 

Deadline to reserve rooms is May 26th, 2026.

We encourage all participating companies to reserve rooms in our official block.

Competitor Eligibility

To participate in this competition, the following eligibility requirements must be met:

1. A competitor must hold a valid commercial driver’s license for the division in which they wish to compete.

2. A competitor must be currently employed by a company located within the Atlantic Provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island) and have performed the duties of a professional truck driver for a minimum of 9 of the previous 12 months.

3. A competitor in the 5 Axle Tandem – Tandem (Management/Company Trainer/Non-Driver) division must hold a valid Class 1 license and be employed by a company located within the Atlantic Provinces that employs professional drivers.

4. The competitor’s license shall not have been suspended at any time during the 12 month period prior to the competition or have had any convictions registered against them related to criminal code driving offenses.

5. Drivers must have their company’s permission/endorsement to participate.

6. A competitor may only register in one (1) competition division.

Commercial Safety College & APTA reserves the right to verify a competitor’s application.

Companies will be invoiced for registration/banquet fees by APTA and should submit their payments to:

Banquet Registration

*Banquet tickets will not be mailed; they will be given to the company representative of the team and will be available at the registration desk. 

Please Note:

All competitors will be required to sign a release form on the day of the competition.

Additionally, competitors will be required to complete an introduction form prior to the competition. This will include basic information on your current employment, previous competition history. 

Driver Kits (Rules, Regulations, Sample Test Questions) will be sent to the Company Representative after the registration deadline has passed.
