We'd love to hear about what you've spotted along the River Sid. The three key categories are separated out below with space for you to include details about your sightings, along with space to upload a photo. You don't need to fill out each section if you only want to record one category. There is a fourth section for recordings which don't fit into the three categories. We may not do anything immediately with the information you submit, but every recording will help us to build up a picture of the catchment over time. This bigger picture will help us to look after the catchment as a community.

  • Your Recordings

Below are the categories where you can submit your recordings. These are helpful for us to notice any big changes in the catchment.
  • Wildlife

What wildlife have you spotted? Can you tell us a bit more about where it was and what it was doing? If you've got a photo or drawing, you can attach it below.

  • Plants

We're specifically looking for sightings of non-native and invasive species such as Himalayan Balsam and Japanese Knotweed. We'll feed this information back to the local volunteer group, 'The Balsam Bashers' who can help organise the clearance of these invasive species. Please remember to include the location of your sighting, and if possible, submit a photo below.

  • Pollution

In the first instance, please contact the Environment Agency on 0800 080 706 for any concerns you may have about pollution. Please do not enter the river to investigate the problem yourself. Once you have informed the Environment Agency, you can record your sighting below and attach a picture.

  • Other recordings

Please tell us about anything of significance you may have noticed. Things we'd like to hear about include new barriers in the river such as fallen trees, large areas of bank erosion, new areas of flooding, etc. Remember to provide the location and if you have a photo, you can upload this too.
