We are so excited that you are interested in becoming an Outsiders Volunteer Snout Support Crew Member!
Each volunteer day's task will be determined based on the number of volunteers that are committed to coming that day. Please ONLY register if you are 100% sure you will show up. If an emergency happens, and you can not make it, please text or call your volunteer coordinator with at least 24 hours notice.
- Gate will be unlocked at 10:45 am
- Registration is at 10:45am -11am
- Start time: Prompt 11am
- End time: 2:30pm
ARRIVAL - You will be required to go through a boot/shoe wash station when you arrive to help reduce the spread of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) SO we ask that you wear closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty/wet.
SNACKS - We recommend that you bring your own snacks in reusable containers to prevent waste. We do ask that you bring a snack that does not require refrigeration or heating. We would recommend any food you wish to eat at Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary be brought in a cooler bag or re-usable lunch bag. Don't forget to bring your water bottle(s) too! Out of respect for the animals, and Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary's mission, please only bring Vegan meals and snacks. - NO meat, eggs, or dairy please. Suggestions: PB&J Sandwiches, Granola Bars, Vegan Protien Shakes.
WHAT TO BRING - Bring WORK GLOVES, clothes & shoes that you don't mind getting dirty: we'll supply the pitch forks and tools. The work is mainly outdoors, SO check the weather forecast for Bowersville, GA, and wear rugged shoes. No open toed shoes please! If you have extra tools (rakes, shovels, power drills, that may help for the specific days task, please bring them along with you!).
This work date is rain or shine although we do not work in thunder. If thunder starts, unfortunately we will be forced to cancel the work day. Dress for the weather and consider including rubber boots, a hat, gloves, sunglasses (eye protection), sunscreen, and insect repellent in your "work day kit" ---you may want a bug net for your head. We recommend bringing a change of clothes for your ride home.
No pets please! We're all animal lovers here, but this is for the safety of everyone.
Do not attend the work day if you have symptoms related to COVID or have been recently exposed to someone with COVID.
Only volunteers who have registered and been approved by staff will be allowed on the grounds.
We are an alcohol-free & smoke-free zone.
