Rental costumes give everyone the opportunity to wear a high-end costume at a fraction of the purchase price. All BLOSSOM by Peartree rental costumes have been made to the highest quality, ensuring the best experience.

Currently, rental costumes are only available to customers within the GTA. Contact me to discuss other options.

Multiple rental durations are available to suit your budget and competition schedule:

• 12 months
• 6 months
• 3 months
• 1 month
• 2 weeks

Costumes cannot be reserved in advance.

Your rental period begins the day you pick up your costume * ; your return date will be set at that time.

*Shipping time is not included in your rental period. Your rental period starts five business days after the costume has been shipped.

The customer may request an extension to return the costume; however, such a request may not be possible if the costume is scheduled to be rented out again. Approval of any extension request is at the discretion of Peartree Costumes.

Failure to return a costume on time will incur a $10/day late fee to a maximum of the full purchase price of the costume.

 

Security deposit

Each rental costume includes a $100 Security deposit ("deposit"), included in the listed price. The $100 deposit will be refunded when the costume is returned on time and in its original condition. For additional information, see Damage and Deposit return below.

All rentals require full payment of the Rental price and deposit prior to shipping or pickup. The complete and signed rental contract must be emailed to Peartree Costumes (blossom@peartreecostumes.com) before the costume can be shipped or picked up. Pickups and fittings are by appointment only.

Contract

After completing your purchase, a PDF order summary will be emailed to you which outlines the full terms and conditions of the rental. This document must be filled in, signed, and returned via email before the costume can be shipped or picked up. Completed PDF files can be emailed to:

All rentals require full payment of the Rental price and Deposit prior to shipping or pickup. The complete and signed Rental Agreement must be emailed to Peartree Costumes (blossom@peartreecostumes.com) before the costume can be shipped or picked up. Pickups and fittings are by appointment only.

Peartree Costumes confirms the costume (including any accessories) will be clean and in good repair at the time of pickup or shipment to the customer.

All costumes (including accessories) must be returned to Peartree Costumes on or before the rental end date. The return address is listed in your rental agreement. You will be reminded two-weeks before your contract end date.

The costume will be delivered in appropriate packaging to ensure safe transport. The customer must return all items in the same manner.

The customer is responsible for selecting and paying for the return carrier. if shipping is necessary. Tracking numbers must be provided to Peartree Costumes when the returning package has been picked up with the relevant carrier. Shipping methods without tracking are not acceptable.

If a customer does not return the costume on or before the set rental period end date, then the customer will incur a late fee of $10.00 per day until such time as the costume is returned.

Debt recovery charges will be levied against this account for all costumes that are not returned. Your deposit will be forfeit.

 

Damage

Normal wear and tear on costumes (at the discretion of Peartree Costumes) is expected and will not incur additional repair charges. As a seamstress I can tighten up loose seams, reattach missing rhinestones, or wash out contact dirt.

Damage beyond normal wear and tear will incur additional fees (see Damaged or Lost Costume Fees below) causing the customer to forfeit part or all of the deposit, depending on the degree of damage.

By renting from Peartree Costumes, you agree to abide by the following costume care guidelines:

• DO NOT attempt to clean or launder the costume (including any accessories Doing so may permanently damage the costume (see Cleaning and Damaged or Lost Costume Fees below
• DO NOT eat, drink (other than water) or smoke in the costume.
• DO NOT attempt to alter the costume in any way. See Alterations below
• DO wear appropriate undergarments while using the costume to protect the piece as much as possible.
• DO cover up when applying makeup, glitter, and hairspray to prevent stains or dulling of rhinestones or mirrors.
• DO NOT allow the costume to touch Velcro or other snagging surfaces.

Cleaning

Please do not attempt to clean or launder the costume yourself. This includes any attempt to dry clean, machine wash, hand wash, bleach and/or tumble dry the costume (or any accessories Attempting to clean a costume without express written permission from Peartree Costumes may forfeit your deposit if the costume is damaged.

All Peartree costumes are delicately hand washed and mended upon return to ensure hygiene and quality is maintained.

Alterations

Peartree costumes does not permit any alterations to the costume (or accessories) in any way. If you wish to make alterations, buy the costume; then it's yours to alter as you see fit. Slight alterations to strap length(s) may be permitted in agreement with Peartree Costumes, however cutting is not permitted.

By renting this costume the customer agrees they will not do any of the following to the costume:

• cut
• dye
• sew*
• rhinestone
• paint
• attach labels
• attach badges, ribbons, awards
• tape (this includes body tape, double-sided tape, flash tape, carpet tape)
• pin*
• glue (this includes butt glue, lash glue, e6000, GemTac, Goop, and other adhesives)
• iron, including iron-on fusible web. (no-contact steam is permitted unless otherwise indicated

The costume and any accessories must be returned in their original condition. If a costume is returned with alterations, the deposit will be forfeit.

*If repairs are needed during the rental, please contact me. Repairs are free! Irreparable damage or alterations will forfeit your deposit.

Damaged or lost costumes fees

Normal wear and tear on costumes is expected and will not incur additional charges. Normal wear and tear is assessed at the sole discretion of Peartree Costumes. Damage beyond normal wear and tear will incur additional damage fees depending on the degree of damage. The expense of any repair may cause the customer to forfeit part or all of the deposit.

Damage that will incur a Damage Fee includes but is not limited to:

• detached garment pieces
• broken zippers
• lost components
• irreparable fabric damage (tears, rips, pulls, make-up or other permanent stains, etc)
• any other damage that renders the costume incapable of being rented

The Damage Fee includes the cost of any supplies and labour costs needed to restore the garment to its original condition.

Major damage to costumes, including irreparable tears or irreversible marks that are beyond reasonable repair (assessed at the discretion of Peartree Costumes) will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit amount.

The full deposit amount will be forfeited if a costume is returned to Peartree Costumes with one or more items missing, or when the costume is not returned to Peartree Costumes by the rental end date. See Deposit return below.

Debt recovery charges will be levied against the customer's account for any costumes not returned.

The deposit may be recovered as follows:

1. A full refund of the deposit will be issued vie e-transfer to the customer's prescribed email address within 10 business days from the date the costume is received by Peartree Costumes provided the costume(s) and all accessories are returned on time and in the proper condition (that is, without damage and in appropriate packaging), or
2. Any additional fees incurred by the customer will be deducted from the deposit. The remaining amount, if any, will then be sent via e-transfer to the customer's prescribed email address within 10 business days from the date the costume is received by Peartree Costumes.

 

By signing the Rental Agreement form you signify your acceptance of all terms and conditions outlined herein.

Copyright

The costume subject to this Agreement is protected under Canadian copyright law. All rights not granted to the customer herein are expressly reserved by Peartree Costumes as the copyright owner. Accordingly, the customer is prohibited from reproducing (i.e. copying), either wholly or in part, the costume design. Failure to comply will result in legal action being taken against any offending parties.

Entire agreement

This document contains the entire agreement between Peartree Costumes and the customer. It supersedes all prior and simultaneous agreements between the parties. The only way to add to or change this agreement is to do so in writing, signed by all parties. In the event that any part of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this agreement shall remain valid and enforceable. Any agreement to waive one or more provisions of this agreement or and failure by one or both parties to enforce a provision of this agreement shall not constitute a waiver of any other portion of this agreement.

Liability waiver

Dance is an inherently dangerous sport. Peartree costume accepts no liability for injuries or death that may arise in theperformance of this activity or the wearing of a Peartree Costume. By signing this agreement, the customer assumes all risks associated with participating in this activity and waives and releases Peartree Costumes and itsstaff from all claims related to this activity, including negligence, known or unknown.
