    PROFESSIONAL Referee
  • Dahl Fellowships honour the memory of Bjarne K Dahl. They provide an opportunity for talented and deserving Australians to undertake a project related to eucalypts that is not readily fundable elsewhere.

    Fellowships will be awarded to individual applicants for individual projects that advance the goals of Eucalypt Australia.

    Priority areas for Fellowships are not limited to, but include: art and literature; development of eucalypt education resources, including indigenous cultural resources; and conservation initiatives.

  • Professional Reference:

  • Two references from different individuals are required to support each Dahl Fellowship application:

    • one Professional Reference; and
    • one Project Reference.

    A Professional Referee is expected to:

    • be an Australian citizen living in Australia;
    • know the applicant in a professional (i.e. work work-related) capacity;
    • have some knowledge of the applicant’s achievements as related to the proposed project; and
    • know the applicant’s personal qualities.

    A Professional Reference should include the referee’s knowledge and opinion regarding:

    • the personal and professional qualities of the applicant;
    • the professional achievements and merits of the applicant;
    • the applicant’s commitment to their profession; and
    • how the applicant will benefit professionally from a Dahl Fellowship.

  • INFORMATION FOR REFEREES:

    • If the applicant has not provided a copy of their application, you should request one to assist you with your reference.
    • If you are unable to complete a reference please contact the applicant promptly so they can identify another referee.
    • Submit the reference.  You will be emailed a PDF. Email this pdf to the applicant for them to attach to their final submission.

    INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS:

    • Send the link to this form, with your project title and your project aim and significance in an email so that these can be copied to this form, and a copy of your draft application to your Professional Referee as early as possible
    • It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the reference is completed and you will need to attach it to your final application submission.
    • Applications received without one Professional Reference AND one Project Reference will not be considered.

    • Applications open – Monday, 16 June 2025
    • Applications close – Tuesday, 12 August 2025, midnight AEST
    • Notification of outcomes – Monday, 6 October 2025
