  • IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

This agreement is between theelectrical contractor, the apprentice, and IEC Dakotas. IEC Dakotas Apprentice Training Program is an 8-step, 4 year, 576 hour US DOL approved Registered Apprenticeship Program. Students will be enrolled in either classroom training(mandatory weekly attendance) live online training (mandatory weeklyattendance), or traditional online training (Must watch recorded lecture eachweek) depending on what works best for the apprentice and the contractor. Each year consists of 2 semesters, each containing 18 weekly lessons.  Students are expected to read weekly lessons, complete homework, and attend class each and every week. Students will receive a set of textbooks as well as online access to the IEC Classroom Management System (CMS).  All online students are required to have a computer of some sort with a functional webcam for test proctoring. A computer is also encouraged for classroom students, but not required.  Classroom students must have a smartphone. All tests must be proctored. Online students will be required to take their test on a computer or tablet with a functioning webcam.  No testing will be permitted without being proctored, as dictated by statelaw. Absences: No student may have more than 3 unexcused absences per semester.  Students with more than 3 will be removed from the program. Classes that are missed must be made up at a later date. This program takes most students 4-7 hours per week in total. Students are required to have their own NEC Code Book.  IEC Dakotas agrees to provide textbooks, online resources, qualified instructors, classroom resources, online help instructors, and extra instruction as required. IEC provides certificates of completion as well as diplomas for graduates. IEC Dakotas maintains permanent student records and provides a free transcript service. Our purpose is to help our students become journeyworkers, but while we can help, the responsibility of doing the work falls squarely on the apprentice. Please refer to the Student Workbook for additional information.
