    Tryout Registration '26
  • Tryouts for team placement will be held for all players and all grade levels in the program. A panel of 2-4 experienced baseball individuals will determine team placement for players based on performance demonstrated at tryouts. This panel will consist of objective, non grade level individuals with significant baseball experience who will evaluate the players based on specific criteria.

     

    The panel will evaluate the players on the following individual skills and assign point values to each: Fielding. Hitting. Pitching/Catching. Speed. The panel's ratings will be averaged and totaled for each player. A copy of the evaluation criteria can be downloaded here.

     

    The goal is to support 2 teams per grade with 10 players per team. Team 1 (Gold) will be formed with the top 10 players based on the evaluation results. Team 2 (Green) will consist of the next 10 players based on the evaluation results. The Jr. Cougar Board of Directors is able to modify the team structure to increase the number of participants to a maximum of 12 players on a team. However, the goal is 10 players per team with 20 participants per grade.

  • 14U: As outgoing 8th graders are eligible for high school baseball, there will not be a 14U team available through Jr. Cougars. If your player is in 8th grade but plays with a different age group, please use the option below.

    As all Junior Cougar players are minors, a legal guardian must complete this form.
  • Payment

  • IMPORTANT! All players must be registered prior to the tryout sessions. A $100 deposit is due at registration. This deposit is non-refundable unless the player is not placed on a team. ALL monies deposited are credited to your 2026 dues.

     

    At registration, you have the option to pay $100 down towards your organization dues OR pay the total amount due. If you opt to pay only the down payment, the remainder is due by November 1, 2025.

     

    This payment is for your player's Jr. Cougars organization dues only and covers the items listed in the descriptions below. Team fees will vary per team and will cover tournament fees, l umpire pay, etc. Those monies will be paid at a later date (spring) directly to your coach.
