  • IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

    This agreement is between the electrical contractor, the apprentice, and IEC Dakotas. IEC Dakotas Apprentice Training Program is an expedited 2 year program. In order to be eligible, students MUST have 8000 or more documented on the job hours PRIOR to beginning the program. They must also accrue an additional 4000 hours over at least 24 months before being eligible to test in North Dakota. Students will be enrolled in IEC's online Learning Management System. Each year consists of 2 semesters, each containing 18 weekly lessons.  Students are expected to read weekly lessons, complete homework, and attend class eachand every week. Students will receive a set of textbooks as well as onlineaccess to the IEC Classroom Management System (CMS).  All online students are required to have a computer of some sort with a functional webcam for test proctoring. A computer is also encouraged for classroom students, but not required.  Classroom students must have a smartphone. All tests must be proctored.   No testing will be permitted without being proctored, as dictated by state law. Absences: No student may have more than 3 unexcused absences per semester.  Students with more than 3 will be removed from theprogram. Classes that are missed must be made up at a later date.This program takes most students 4-7 hours per week in total.Students are required to have their own NEC Code Book.  IEC Dakotas agrees to provide textbooks, online resources,qualified instructors, classroom resources, online help instructors, and extra instruction as required. IEC provides certificates of completion as well as diplomas for graduates. IEC Dakotas maintains permanent student records andprovides a free transcript service. Our purpose is to help our students become journeyworkers, but while we can help, the responsibility of doing the work fallssquarely on the apprentice. Please refer to the Student Workbook for additional information.
  • PAYMENT INFORMATION

    If you are an employee of an IEC Member Contractor, IEC Dakotas will request payment for your classes from your employer. If you work for a Non-IEC Member Contractor, IEC Requires 50% payment upfront, 25% due after 1 year, and 25% due prior to receiving your diploma.
