    Pathfinder Program ONLY
  • This intent form is the INITIAL STEP in the process for placement on the 2025/2026 Pathfinder Program Enrollment Waitlist and Lottery. Filling out this form does not guarantee that your student will be immediately added to the waitlist or enrolled at CLA.

  • Please note the instructional model and attendance requirements unique to the Pathfinder program.  The Pathfinder Program is currently limited to Kindergarten through 6th grades.  Your submission of this form will serve as confirmation that you have read and understand the requirements below.

    The Pathfinder Program from Crater Lake Academy offers a flexible and personalized option designed to help families thrive who want an independent learning environment!  As a parent or guardian in the Pathfinder Program, you are your child's primary Learning Coach, a truly vital partner in their educational success. This enriching role involves:

    • Guiding Daily Learning: You'll facilitate approximately 4-5 hours of daily learning activities, helping your child engage with the curriculum and complete assignments.
    • Monitoring Progress & Needs: You'll be on the front lines, observing your child's understanding, administering assessments, and identifying areas where additional support or challenge might be needed.
    • Maintaining Records: Fulfilling daily attendance requirements and tracking daily academic progress are key daily responsibilities.
    • Collaborating Weekly: You'll connect weekly with your assigned Crater Lake Academy teacher to discuss progress, troubleshoot challenges, and plan upcoming learning activities. Your insights are invaluable to our shared success!

  • District Resident vs. Non-Resident Information

  • Crater Lake Academy determines school district resident status for incoming students.  CLA will separate student intent of enrollment into two categories: Resident Students and Non-Resident Students.  Enrollment into CLA will be based on the total number of students from each of these categories, which will be defined as follows:

    "Resident District Students" include all students that reside within EPSD9 boundaries except those defined below as "Non-Resident District Students".

    "Non-Resident District Students" include students in these categories:

    1. Registered homeschool students (for at least one school year) 
    2. Non-District charter school students (for at least one school year)
    3. Private School students (for at least one school year)
    4. Students who transferred from other Oregon school districts or from out-of-state.
    5. Incoming Kinders when all of their school-aged siblings are enrolled in CLA and the siblings qualify as Non-Resident District Students per the above criteria.

    Determination will be made by CLA staff based on answers to the questions below.  Please be as accurate as possible in your responses.  CLA staff will contact families for any missing information and determination will be on hold until all information has been gathered.

  • Once you click submit, you will be added to our 2025/2026 Intent to Enroll list for placement on the Enrollment Waitlist and Lottery. This is an initial step in the process and will be followed by additional meetings before your student is formally placed on the enrollment waitlist and lottery. You will be contacted to schedule your next meeting. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need to make corrections to your submission.
