    The Center for Asian Pacific American Women (CAPAW) is now accepting applications for its signature leadership program - the Asian Pacific American Women’s Leadership Institute (APAWLI). Our Mission: CAPAW invests in AANHPI and women of color and build personal power to fight against systemic racism for a more equitable future.

    Tuition for the Program is $3500 and must be received prior to the first session unless an alternate payment schedule has been previously agreed upon. Fellows will be responsible for their own travel expenses. Please work with Sue Ann Hong for other financial payment plans and arrangements. Payment(s) can be submitted at apawomen.org via PayPal. Scholarships: If scholarship assistance is needed, please contact Sue Ann Hong-Whitaker at sahong@capaw.org.  Each scholarship will be awarded based on individual circumstances and need.  You are encouraged to apply if you have a financial need.

  • Expectations/Benefits

    The CAPAW will select 15 AANHPI women throughout the country (APAWLI fellows) with eight years or more of work/community experience. Applicants must possess the personal responsibility for their own self-development and the public responsibility for bringing teamwork, diversity, equality, and opportunity to their companies, organizations, communities, and families.   APAWLI fellows will convene virtually for a one-year period.  Each session will focus on specific areas of leadership and “whole person” development.  There will be one in-person gathering for APAWLI Fellows to meet face-to-face in Atlanta, Georgia from April 17-19th. Benefits of the program also include:  Individual and tailored coaching An opportunity to impact social change Build a network of AANHPI leaders Demonstrate leadership through the identification and guided completion of a learning project that impacts at least 25 people  Return to the workplace/community place as a more effective leader
  • Expectations of Participants

    Attend all scheduled sessions.   Complete all workshop assessments, tools, evaluations, and session assignments by scheduled deadlines. Identify the Impact Project topic by end of the CAPAW program. Complete project by August 1, 2026. Graduation will be virtual unless there is a scheduled upcoming conference. Details will be outlined further once the program begins.
