Failure to select the proper category will result in you being disqualified from the tournament.

You are required to bring your respective institutions ID card for verification purpose on the event day. Unable to follow this rule may result to not allowed to join the event.

Participation
1. The individuals eligible for participation are students sponsored by YTN (under the SHINE/PRIME programs) or YTN staff.
2. Each individual is allowed to participate in one sport only, except for Tug of War.
3. Registrations received after the deadline will not be considered.
4. There will be no provision of essential equipment for the respective sports.
5. All registrations need to be completed using Jotform.
6. Participants are responsible for their own health and must declare any medical condition to the organizers before participation.

Event Ongoing
1. Bringing dangerous items to the event venue is prohibited.
2. Exiting the UNITEN Putrajaya Campus during the programme is not permitted.
3. If any unfavorable incidents occur, please inform the individual responsible for overseeing the ongoing event.
4. Meals will be provided throughout the event.
5. Ensure your presence at the specified location for the respective events.
6. The organizers retain the right to modify regulations or disqualify participants for rule violations.
7. The safety of participants and observers is of utmost importance. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
8. Final decisions made by game referees or judges are binding and should be respected by all parties.
9. Acts of poor sportsmanship, including verbal or physical misconduct, will not be tolerated.
10. For students from other universities (KSHAS and IPTA/others), you are not allowed to stay overnight in other places than the accommodation provided.
11. Participants must attend all three days of the event, including opening, closing ceremonies and fun run.
12. All event participants must follow the dress code, which requires attire that extends beyond the knees and prohibits tight-fitting attire.
13. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited at all event venues.

 

 

Participation

1. Only 20 teams are accepted (12 pairs for men doubles and 8 pairs for women doubles). 
2. The tournament will start at 8.00 am sharp. Participants are advised to arrive 30 minutes early for the briefing. 
3. The tournament will be held at Dewan Seri Sarjana (DSS) for both categories. 
4. If participants fail to show up within 10 minutes after being called by the organizer, they will be considered disqualified. 
5. The participants must bring their student ID (students) or staff ID (staff) during the registration on the event day. 
6. All participants must fill up the online registration form with all the details of the player. Otherwise, the organizer may reject the player’s application to participate. 
7. The organizer has the right to accept or reject a team/player. All decisions made are final. 
8. There will be a break for lunch and solat. Lunchtime is from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm (1 hour). Lunch will be provided. 
9. Please bring your own badminton racket. Racket will not be provided. 
10. Shuttlecocks will be provided for every match. (Limited to 2 shuttlecocks per match). 
11. Please wear suitable attire. 
12. All participants are required to utilize the provided transportation or vehicles coordinated by the responsible individual when traveling outside of Dewan Seri Sarjana (DSS).

1. In the group stage and quarter final round, a match consists of one set of 30 points.
2. In the semi-final and final stage, a match consists of best of three games of 21 points.
3. Every match for both categories will have a 3 minute warm up session.
4. The pair winning a rally adds a point to its score.
5. At 29-all (for group stage and QF stage) or 20-all (for SF and final stage), the pair which first gains a 2-point lead wins the game.
6. The pair winning a game serves first in the next game.
7. A point is scored when the shuttlecock lands inside the opponent’s court and if a returned shuttlecock hits the net or lands outside of the court the player will lose the point.
8. When the score is even, the server serves from the right service court and left court when the score is odd.
9. At the start of the rally, the server and receiver stand in diagonally opposite service courts.
10. A legal serve must be hit diagonally and over the net and across the court.
11. The players do not change their respective service courts until they win a point when their side is serving.
12. The rules do not allow second serves.
13. A player is not allowed to touch the net with any part of their body or racket.
14. A player must not deliberately distract their opponents.
15. A player/pair is not able to hit the shuttlecock twice.
16. A ‘let’ may be called by the referee or judge if an unforeseen or accidental issue arises.
17. The game always begins with a toss. After the toss, the winner can either choose for a court side or to be the first server.
