    Attendance Policy Reminders
    (See handbook for full details.)

    Season Points
Each athlete has 6 attendance points per season: 2 in summer (June 4–Aug 12) and 4 in fall/spring (Aug 13–end of season). Every absence, regardless of reason (approved or unexcused), uses 1 point.

    Approved Absences
Must be submitted on the Absence Request Form at least 2 weeks in advance. Requests must be within the athlete’s seasonal point limit, avoid blackout periods, and be for valid reasons such as travel, school events, illness, or verified family emergencies.

    Unexcused Absences
Any absence not meeting the above criteria. Results in a $50 fee per occurrence ($25 for Tier 2 and 3), conditioning, and may cause routine changes or alternate status if frequent.

    Illness and Injuries
Sick athletes may attend in a mask or observe on the sidelines. Staying home requires the Absence Request Form. Injuries require both an Injury Form and doctor’s note. Injured athletes are still expected at practices and competitions, with documented restrictions.

    Choreography
Absences are allowed for prior commitments or travel, but may affect routine placement. Attendance is strongly encouraged.

    Blackout Periods
The two weeks before each competition are mandatory. No absences permitted. Families should hold all possible practice times, including evenings and weekends.

    Late Arrival or Early Departure
May result in conditioning, loss of stunt/tumbling positions, or routine changes. Full-session attendance is required.

    Competitions
Missing a competition, arriving late, or leaving before awards results in a $100 penalty and may place the athlete on alternate status.

    Special Allowances
Seniors: one extra point for verified senior events. School cheerleaders: up to three extra points for required school activities. Pre-booked summer vacations submitted by June 1 may qualify for exemptions.
