B'nei Mitzvah Journey cohort - "To Be a Blessing!"
Together with Rabbah Riqi and specialists, our curious compassionate students build community and explore tradition in an engaging and very fun format, while on the road towards "becoming B'nei Mitzvah" (we use both plural form and singular Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Bet Mitzvah -- to mean child responsible for the commandments) within self, with peers, family, the world and all the places and The Place where we find and seek spirituality, using curriculum, discussion and group activities designed for this age. Includes art, parent-tween learning, Havaya experiential outings, Tikkun Olam Project/fixing the world, being part of year-round Shabbat prayer services, community and family Shabbat/Havdalahs, and the infamous Teen Purim Shpiel created and produced by the class. We encourage creative thinking, intuitive knowledge and delving into Jewish wisdom to build a Jewish experience and a Bet-Mitzvah service ritual that is both unique and familiar, deeply connected to: community(Kehilah), nature (Teva), sacred space (Makom), the Torah, your talents and a world greater than ourselves where interconnectedness is a blessing!
