Rainforest Trust takes all concerns seriously and provides a safe way to raise grievances related to our staff, partners, or supported projects. This grievance mechanism is open to anyone affected by or involved in our work—including community members, partner organizations, donors, and others with relevant knowledge. It applies to any Rainforest Trust-supported activity reasonably believed to have caused or contributed to harm, including human rights abuses or safeguarding violations. You will not face retaliation for speaking up, and your identity will be kept confidential if requested.
All submissions are reviewed by our Grievance Coordinator who is not involved in day-to-day grant administration or partner communications. Concerns raised in good faith will be reviewed, documented, and addressed fairly and promptly, and may be escalated to senior leadership when appropriate. Rainforest Trust is committed to transparency, accountability, and the protection of human rights. As part of this commitment, we have endorsed the Core Human Rights Principles for Private Conservation Organizations and Funders, developed with the UN and global human rights experts, which guide our efforts to prevent and redress harm, and taking proactive steps to uphold human rights in all areas of our work.
You may submit a grievance by filing this form, or by directly emailing us at grievances@rainforesttrust.org
