Purpose Over Prison Youth Mentorship Program
My Past Does Not Cancel My Purpose
Transforming Pain Into Purpose & Time Into Testimony
Purpose Over Prison is a transformational mentoring program created to intervene early and support youth who are at risk of entering—or have already been involved in—the juvenile justice system. Designed by Pastor Mo, this program offers both prevention and reentry support through intentional mentoring, spiritual guidance, and practical life skills. The core of Purpose Over Prison is a 12-week one-on-one mentorship curriculum, focused on helping youth discover their purpose, heal from trauma, grow in self-awareness, and build sustainable success beyond their circumstances. Each participant receives digital and/or hard copy materials to engage in weekly lessons, activities, and reflections tailored to their stage of life and unique challenges. While one-on-one coaching is the heart of the program, group rates are available for schools, after-school programs, juvenile detention centers, churches, community organizations, and summer camps. Groups are structured by age to ensure developmentally appropriate engagement and learning. All mentors—including Pastor Mo—are thoroughly vetted and must pass a criminal background check within the last 12 months. Upon successful completion of the program, each participant receives a certificate of completion recognizing their commitment and growth. Whether reaching youth before they enter the system or walking with them as they rebuild after incarceration, Purpose Over Prison is more than a program—it’s a pathway to healing, hope, and lasting transformation.
From Gang Life To God Life
As a native born and raised in a rough environment in Detroit, Pastor Mo is the true meaning of his motto, Purpose Over Prison. He took to the streets at an early age to find his identity. Risky behavior and bad decisions almost cost Pastor Mo his life and an early exit from all Detroit Public Schools. Jesus saved his life through sports and he found his purpose. From gang life to God life, Pastor Mo received a full scholarship to Indiana University to play as a running back (2002-2004). Due to an injury, he transferred to Alabama State where he earned a second full scholarship and his Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Radio Television (Cum Laude, 2006). He was a part of ASU's 2004 SWAC Championship Team (2nd team in school history to win the championship). In 2006, Coach Lynch was nominated as an academic All American. He went on to coach at Urbana & Tiffin Universities (Ohio), and served as Equipment Assistant for the Atlanta Falcons. Pastor Mo is a celebrity events emcee, actor, replay official (Big 10), professional speaker, youth mentoring guru, and founder/owner of 5th Quarter Sports Agency. He is married to Kaletta Lynch and proud to be a Girl Dad. Mr. & Mrs. Lynch have two beautiful daughters, KaNiyah and Kennedy. Pastor Mo is a lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a member of Prince Hall Freemasonry and the Kiwanis Club. Pastor Mo is the Apostle & Pastor of Kingdom Huddle Ministry. Pastor Mo was awarded the Joseph R. Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and Volunteer Service Award for mentoring young people internationally. He is the founder of his own mentoring programs, Sunday Dinner and Purpose Over Prison. He provides year round mentoring and professional development opportunities to youth ages 12-17 and 18-25. Pastor Mo uses sports and his faith, life experiences, and coaching and mentoring expertise to help youth and other student athletes discover their purpose and make positive life choices. He firmly believes that we need each other to survive so his top priority in life is to serve God and to show the love of Christ to all mankind. John 15:13
