Dear respected brother / respected sister,
Assalamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
We welcome to attend the second summer Dowra at Al-Rahma Institute in Jordan. We ask Allah to grant you the enabling grace to benefit completely, to take advantage of the opportunity to be in the company of scholars, to learn knowledge, act upon it, and spread it to others.
Please find the details of this Dowra below:
Objectives of the Dowra
1. Actualizing servitude to Allah ﷻ and attaining inward purity
2. Gaining an understanding of the religion
3. Strengthening the connection with sacred knowledge and the lights of the Qur’an and Sunnah
4. Strengthening the bonds of brotherhood for the sake of Allah ﷻ
5. Taking advantage of this short life and seeking provision for the hereafter
6. Participating in saving and benefiting the Ummah and taking the means to relieve its distress.
7. Facilitating learning from the great scholar and spiritual master, Habib Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim Bin Hafiz, and sitting before him for those who find it difficult to come to the city of Tarim.
8. Seeking the combined blessings of both Sham and Yemen that the noble Prophet ﷺ prayed for.
Dowra Dates
The Dowra begins with night prayer and Fajr prayer on Wednesday, 19th of Safar, 1447 AH, corresponding to 13th of August, 2025, and ends with the Isha’ prayer on Saturday, the 6th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal, 1447 AH, corresponding to the 30th of August, 2025.
Dowra Location
The Dowra will be held at the Al-Rahma Institute for Sharia Sciences in the Al-Yadudah locale in the city of Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Dowra Format and Program
This Dowra is similar to the summer Dowra held at Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim for Islamic Studies. It contains lessons in sacred knowledge in Aqida, Fiqh, Sira, and Tazkiya (Spiritual Purification), while training and accustoming one’s soul to be upright, adhere to the Sunnahs, be mindful of time, and benefit from companionship for the sake of Allah and being in the company of esteemed callers to Allah ﷻ.
The greatest benefit this Dowra offers is the invaluable opportunity to learn from the great scholar and spiritual master, Habib Umar Bin Hafiz. Students will have more than one class a day with Habib Umar, being able to benefit tremendously from sitting before him and being in his company during the prayers and in the gatherings of remembrance, knowledge, and purification.
This Dowra also uniquely offers an environment that strengthens one’s faith through praying in congregation, reciting Prophetic invocations collectively, being in righteous company, and filling one’s time in ways that brings one closer to Allah ﷻ.
Additionally, those managing the dorms will organize gatherings for students to sit together and establish bonds of brotherhood for the sake of Allah ﷻ.
Sacred Knowledge Classes
The Dowra will offer classes in sacred knowledge as well as lectures providing guidance and spiritual instruction, which will be delivered in Arabic with simultaneous translation into English and Indonesian. These classes will be taught by an esteemed selection of specialized teachers who convey knowledge with a chain of transmission (sanad) back to the Prophet combined with a sound understanding and ability to communicate clearly.
Participants in the Dowra will receive a number of general group lessons, as well as classes chosen based on each group’s level of knowledge and capability.
Types of Enrollment for Participation
First type: Full attendance including residence for the entire duration of the Dowra in the dorms at Al-Rahma Institute for men, and at the dorms near the institute for women (this type excludes food).
This level of enrollment is best because it allows one to:
1. Use his time wisely and not be busied by things that negatively affect his ability to learn and benefit.
2. Sit frequently in the company of scholars and callers to Allah and benefit from them.
3. Facilitate being present for the opening takbīr in all prayers with the Imam in the Musalla, attending many gatherings of remembrance, and attain the merit of praying the night prayer and taking advantage of virtuous times.
4. Be in righteous company with other participants from different countries and gain companions for the sake of Allah from scholars, students of knowledge, and those who wish to follow the path to the hereafter and become closer to Allah ﷻ.
5. Be economical and spend less money in the case of those who do not live near the institute.
