Step 1: Welcome to the Church Planting Pathway Logo
  • Welcome to the Church Planting Pathway

  • Thank you for joining the Church Planting Pathway. We are grateful you are enrolling in our guided course designed to help you be assessed, approved, sent, and supported.

The entire Church Planting Program exists to equip and support our church planters from start to finish. We provide training and care within the context of a community of peers. We connect the potential planter with regional pastors who can offer support in a number of ways. We do everything we can to ensure our church planters launch well and last long.

If you are considering planting a church with us, we want to help you thoughtfully consider what mission partnership with Sovereign Grace Churches might look like. You'll need to know us, our values, and our history a little bit better. So, we'd like you to read, listen, and watch the following resources.

We hope these resources will give you a better understanding of Sovereign Grace Churches and if planting with our denomination is something you want to pursue.

  • Statement of Faith

Read through and become familiar with our Statement of Faith

  • Danvers Statement

Read through and be familiar with the Danvers Statement as it relates to gender roles.

  • Seven Shared Values

Our churches embrace the following seven convictions. We believe they are a faithful application of our biblical values and shape our local practices and ministries regardless of our context. They define what it means to be a Sovereign Grace church.

    1. Reformed
    2. Gospel-centered
    3. Continuationist
    4. Complementarian
    5. Elder-goverened
    6. Missions
    7. Interdependence

For details on each value, please see our website

  • Our Governance

Sovereign Grace Churches is a community of congregations. Membership is voluntary and the principles of elder rule and the autonomy of the local church are respected and encouraged. We align ourselves with one another by committing to the principles and practices prescribed by our Book of Church Order.

Our governmental structure is representative and decentralized. Every pastor is a member of a Regional Assembly of Elders. Every church appoints a delegate to serve on the Council of Elders. In this way, all denominational authority is derived and certified by our local elderships.

Read through our Book of Church Order and become familiar with how we are governed.

“Each local body stands in need of other local bodies in a relationship of interdependence.”
    — Sov. Grace Churches Book Of Church Order
