The Raine & Horne Big Splash is an annual fundraising event supporting the ongoing operations of Rachel's House Trust, proudly sponsored by Raine & Horne.

Held in a fun, community-focused atmosphere at the Rangiora RSA Club, the event brings together local businesses, community groups, and individuals to help raise vital funds for the Trust. Participants compete for the title of “Splash for Cash” Champion by raising the most sponsorship, dressing up to match the event theme, and bravely taking the plunge into a pool of freezing cold water—all in the name of charity.

It’s also a fantastic Friday night out for the wider community, offering a lively and entertaining environment where businesses, families, and friends can come together, connect, and support a meaningful local cause.

Rachel’s House Trust is a registered charity offering a full wrap-around service in response to the needs of parents, expectant whānau, and caregivers with young pēpi under 5 in our local community. We connect with families to provide ongoing, practical support. Our clients include māmā, papa, and their pēpi—regardless of their background. Families may be referred through agencies, medical centres, midwives, or whānau—or they can self-refer.

Referrals are only required for social-work support and food parcels; otherwise, anyone in the community is welcome to visit our Baby Hub and access free baby items, clothing, nursery furniture, and maternity equipment—no referral needed.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers walk alongside families for as long as needed, offering:

    • A qualified Social Worker and a Senior Support Worker
    • Weekly Play Group and Mums & Bubs Group
    • Advocacy, guidance, counselling, mentoring, workshops, and one-on-one support
    • Practical help accessing financial assistance, housing, education, food parcels and other services

Rachel’s House provides a visible, approachable, and empowering environment where vulnerable families are supported to live with confident hope and build a positive future for their children… for as long as it takes.

  • How does the fundraising work?

Fundraising is an important part of your participation and plays a key role in supporting Rachel’s House Trust.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a link to set up your own Givealittle page under The Raine & Horne Big Splash for Rachel’s House Trust. The setup process is quick and easy — we can provide content to help you get started, or you’re welcome to personalise your page.

Once your page is live, you can begin fundraising straight away. Share your link across your social media channels, include it in emails to your networks, and reach out to friends, family, and colleagues. Workplace fundraising is strongly encouraged, and we’ll provide a poster you can print and display to support your efforts.

All funds you raise will go directly to Rachel’s House Trust, helping us continue our vital work in the community.

    Splash for Cash Champion

Why not aim to be one of our top fundraisers? Our top three participants will be crowned Splash for Cash Champions, and we’ll make a donation to a charity of your choice on your behalf:

    1st Prize: $350
    2nd Prize: $100
    3rd Prize: $50

Fundraising remains open until one week after the event (Friday 3 July), allowing time for any last-minute or post-event donations. Our champions will then be announced, and donations made to their nominated charities.

    Theme

This year’s dress-up theme is “Childhood Dream”, inspired by Rachel’s House mission of supporting families and their children.

Start planning your outfit now — we encourage you to get creative, have fun, and wow the crowd! You’ll also be in to win our Best Dressed 2026 prize, taking home a delicious gift hamper.

    Health & Safety

As part of your costume planning, please keep safety in mind. You’ll be jumping into a pool, so ensure your outfit allows for safe movement and does not include any elements that could pose a risk when jumping from the platform or entering the water.
