  • The Raine & Horne Big Splash 2025 - Event Registration

Please fill out the form to register as a participant in our fundraising event, The Big Splash for Rachel's House Trust.
  • The Raine & Horne Big Splash is an annual fundraising event to support the ongoing operating costs of Rachel’s House Trust. Proudly sponsored by Raine & Horne Real Estate. Brought to Rangiora in a fun and community focused atmosphere, held at our local Rangiora RSA Club, this event attracts local business and community group participants to take part and help us to raise the much needed funding for our Trust.

We invite ‘community minded folk’ to compete in the battle to be our ‘Splash for Cash’ Champion by raising the most money by the end of the event. Each participant dresses up to our chosen theme and ‘takes the plunge’ into a pool of freezing cold water, all in the name of charity.

The event is a great night out for locals to attend after work on a Friday night. It is an opportunity for businesses, families and friends alike to get together for a fun and entertaining night out, whilst supporting a local charity.

Friday 22nd of August, Rangiora RSA Club

    5pm: Event Starts

5:30-7:30pm: The Big Splash Participants Take the Plunge

8:00pm: All jumping is complete, Nexus Unplugged until 9:00pm

Rachel’s House Trust is a registered charity offering a full wrap-around service in response to the needs of parents, expectant whānau, and caregivers with young pēpi under 5 in our local community. We connect with families to provide ongoing, practical support. Our clients include māmā, papa, and their pēpi—regardless of their background. Families may be referred through agencies, medical centres, midwives, or whānau—or they can self-refer.

Referrals are only required for social-work support and food parcels; otherwise, anyone in the community is welcome to visit our Baby Hub and access free baby items, clothing, nursery furniture, and maternity equipment—no referral needed.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers walk alongside families for as long as needed, offering:

    • A qualified Social Worker and a Senior Support Worker
    • Weekly Play Group and Mums & Bubs Group
    • Advocacy, guidance, counselling, mentoring, workshops, and one-on-one support
    • Practical help accessing financial assistance, housing, education, food parcels and other services

Rachel’s House provides a visible, approachable, and empowering environment where vulnerable families are supported to live with confident hope and build a positive future for their children… for as long as it takes.

  • How does the fundraising work?

Upon registration you will be supplied with a link to create your own Givealittle Page under the umbrella of The Big Splash for Rachel's House Trust.

This is a very quick process to set up and we can provide most of the content for you OR you can create it yourself.

Once you have set this up you can get fundraising instantly. You can share your Givealittle page URL to your own Social Media sites and also include in emails to your own databases or to your friends and family.

All funds raised by you will be donated to Rachel's House Trust to support our ongoing operating costs.

If you would like to start a cash collection at your work place we can supply a poster to be printed to go along side this.

    Splash for Cash Champion!

Become one of our top 3 'Splash for Cash Champions and we will donate to your chosen charity on your behalf.

    1st Prize = $350

    2nd Prize = $100

    3rd Prize= $50

You can continue fundraising right up until 1 week post the event (Friday 29th of August) as we are aware some people still have cash to donate after the event or last minute donations. Our 3 Splash for Cash Champions will then be notified and we will make the above donations to your charity of choice.

    Theme

This year's theme for dressing up is: 'Nursery Rhymes'. We chose this theme to fit within the Rachel's House mission and that is supporting families and their children.

So please get your thinking caps on to come up with a fantastic outfit to wow the crowds and be in to WIN Best Dressed in 2025 and take home a delicious Gift Hamper.

Health & Safety Note: When preparing your costume idea - please be mindful that you are jumping into a pool of water and your costume mustn't have any obstructions that could impact your own health & safety when you jump off the platform and land in the pool.

  • Thank you so much for coming on board to support Rachel's House Trust. We are truly grateful to you for putting your hand up and we look forward to working on this fun event with you.

Once you have submitted your registration will hear from our Event Manager, Belinda Topp to acknowledge this and to provide the next steps to set up your Givealittle Page.

If you have any queries prior to this, please contact Belinda on funding@rachelshouse.org.nz
