  • Terms and Conditions for The Gottman Seven Principles Couples Seminar

    Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before registering for or participating in the Gottman Seven Principles Program Seminar offered by Minds in Action Counseling. By registering and submitting payment, you agree to the following terms:

    Seminar Overview
    This is a psychoeducational seminar based on Dr. John Gottman’s The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. It is not therapy or a substitute for professional mental health care or medical treatment. The seminar consists of lectures, demonstrations, videos, and private couples' exercises.


    Eligibility and Intended Audience
    This Seminar is appropriate for:

    • Pre-marital or engaged couples
    • Couples living together
    • Married couples, regardless of the length of the relationship


    Not intended for:

    • Couples facing severe relationship distress, dysfunction, or trauma
    • Relationships with serious compulsive behaviors, including gambling, sexual acting out, and other disruptive behaviors
    • Individuals currently experiencing active domestic violence, physical, or emotional abuse
    • Couples in crisis, including those where there are concerns of safety
    • Individuals with untreated major mental illness or active substance abuse
    • Anyone with an open CPS case
    • If either party has retained legal counsel for divorce
    • If you are uncertain whether this seminar is appropriate for your situation, please contact us before registering.

    Behavioral Expectations
    To ensure a safe and respectful learning environment:

    • Attendees are expected to participate respectfully with their partner and the facilitator
    • Disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior (including offensive language or conduct) may result in removal from the seminar without refund
    • Attendees are not required to share personal issues with the group or turn on their camera. Participation is confidential and private within the couple
    • Refund and Return Policy

    Full refund for cancellations made 7 days or more before the seminar date
    50% refund for cancellations made within 3–6 days of the seminar
    No refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of the event or for no-shows


    If the seminar is canceled by the facilitator, you will receive a full refund or may choose to reschedule at no additional cost.

    To request a cancellation or refund, please contact us at least 7 days before the seminar via email or phone.

    Technology Requirements
    This is a virtual, live event delivered via Zoom. Attendees are responsible for:

    • Access to a stable internet connection
    • A device capable of running Zoom (desktop, laptop)
    • A private, quiet space to engage in the seminar activities

    If technical difficulties on your end prevent participation, we are not liable for missed content or refund eligibility.

    Confidentiality
    This is an educational seminar, not therapy. While your privacy is respected, this is not a confidential clinical service.

    Couples will not be asked to share private relationship issues in front of others

    Communication with the seminar facilitator outside the seminar is not a substitute for counseling
