    • Iwanna Eat!

Starting in September, each night before club, we will offer food for the clubbers at 5:45 for FREE. We do this because we know getting kids home from school and back out the door for club is hard. Donations are welcomed to help cover the cost of food, but they are not expected. But, for this service to happen, we need parents to volunteer to serve the food and clean up afterward (ideally once a month). Parent volunteers will not need to purchase or prepare food.

NIGHTLY SCHEDULE –Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T meet every Wednesday night, beginning promptly at 6:30 pm and ending at 8 pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes early so clubbers can be checked in before the flag ceremony. Please pick up your clubber promptly at 8 pm.

FLAG CEREMONY - We begin our evening in the Student Center with the Flag Ceremony. Please show respect during the flag ceremony and honor our flag with proper behavior. If you arrive late and we are doing the pledges, please do not enter until we have finished; then enter quietly and stand with the appropriate club; Sparks on the Red Line; T&T on the Green Line. Cubbies will go to their regular room and will be escorted into the student center for the Flag Ceremony by their leaders.

AWANA NIGHT - The night consists of 10 minutes for Flag Ceremony promptly 6:30 pm and three, 25-minute segments for game time, handbook time, and Council time. A brief description of each segment is detailed below:

HANDBOOK TIME – Clubbers will be assigned a handbook group and leader on the first night of club; some leaders serve every other week. All clubbers recite verses out of their handbook. The verses are grouped together and are called “sections.” Clubbers are allowed two helps per “section.” Leaders sign the sections off in their handbook after clubbers successfully complete them. Our goal is to have the clubber understand the meaning of the verses they are learning.

GAME TIME - Clubbers will have a lot of fun and will learn good sportsmanship by participating in exciting game activities. Teams will be assigned the first night but may be changed once or twice a year to ensure balance.  It is requested that Clubbers wear athletic shoes to Club for safety. NO sandals or flip flops are allowed.

COUNCIL TIME  - Clubbers will participate in a time of worship which includes an exciting time of songs, prayer, a Bible lesson, announcements, and awards. Sparks and T&T will receive their awards the week after they are earned.

      THEME NIGHTS IN AWANA CLUBS

There are special nights at Awana Clubs called “theme nights” where the clubber is asked to participate. There is often a participation prize for those clubbers who choose to join in the fun. You will receive a flyer a week before each event is scheduled to take place. Some nights will have 1st and 2nd place prizes besides the participation prizes. Parents, please encourage your children to be happy with the winners and enjoy participating. The yearly calendar will be sent home on the first night of Club.

      CLUB RULES:

FIRST AND FOREMOST, WE WILL HONOR GOD.

Clubbers will be KIND to each other at all times.

Clubbers will stop talking and come to attention whenever you hear a Commander, Director, or Leader giving a Five-Count.

The leadership is here for you; please honor their commitment by respecting their authority.

APPROPRIATE ATTIRE IS TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.

      • Clubbers must wear their Awana T-Shirt every club night unless there is a special theme night that includes dressing up.
      • ATHLETIC SHOES are to be worn to participate in the games for safety. NO FLIP FLOPS or SANDALS.
      • Young ladies, PLEASE wear JEANS OR PANTS – NO DRESSES.
      • Everyone will have more fun if they are dressed appropriately.

A clubber who disrupts the meeting with inappropriate behavior will be given a one-count. If the clubber receives a second count, the clubber will be taken to the Club Director for a “chat.” If a third count is received during the club night, a “talk” with the Commander will be appropriate, and parents will most likely be called to take the clubber home.

Foul language and “bullying” will not be tolerated by anyone and is grounds for the parents to be called immediately to take the clubber home.

      ATTENDANCE POLICIES

Clubbers should be checked in approximately 15 minutes early. After check-in, please take your child to the Student Center for the Flag Ceremony.

      • PICKING UP CLUBBERS – It is the policy of our Awana Clubs that Clubbers only be released to their parents (not siblings); make sure you have your pickup tag with you when picking up your child.

CUBBIES – Toddler Town or Pre-School Park (depending on assignment)

SPARKS and T&T will be picked up in the Student Center.

      • Club Attendance - awards will be given to those clubbers who have less than two absences per quarter. Illness is an excused absence and will not count against them. Please drop a note off to the secretary when you check in your clubber.
      • Church Attendance  - Awana Clubs encourage regular church attendance. There are two services each Sunday; 9 and 10:30 am.

CELL PHONES – WE REQUEST THAT CLUBBERS DO NOT BRING CELL PHONES TO CLUB. We will NOT be responsible for phones brought to Club. All Commanders, Directors, and most Leaders have cell phones with them: if a clubber needs to call a parent for any reason, we would be happy to use one of our phones to do that for them.
