Rooted in Music - Growing in Memories       

The Tree Planting Program at Florida Sand Music Ranch is a community-driven initiative to support the health and beauty of our campground, honor the legacy of those who have enjoyed the ranch, and deepen our connection with nature. Trees may be sponsored by anyone- individuals, families, or groups to celebrate life events, honor or memorialize loved ones.

Families wishing to sponsor Memorial trees will have the option to schedule an individual planting ceremony by contacting Ranch management.

All other trees sponsored by groups or individuals are asked to participate in a tree planting camp-in. This will help in many ways- allow wholesale purchasing, reduce delivery cost per tree, provide for uniform size and quality of trees and make the actual planting (hard work!) easier on everyone. The first semi-annual tree planting weekend is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 11-12, 2025

All trees will be native or site-appropriate species such as live oak, longleaf pine, or cypress, and will be planted in a location chosen by the Ranch to ensure ecological suitability and sustainability.

All trees will be acquired by and delivered to the Ranch. They will be at least 5’-8’ in height and planting will be accomplished or supervised by qualified personnel.

 

Maintenance & Stewardship

Suggested donations will include the first year of maintenance for sponsored trees by Ranch staff and volunteers. Additional care and support from sponsors is welcomed but not required.

 

Program Options
1. Sponsor a New Tree
Participants may sponsor the planting and care of a new tree at the Ranch to help with storm recovery or to offset the inevitable loss of some of our older trees.

Suggested Donation: $300 per tree

2. Tree Planting in Honor or Memory

Plant a new tree in a meaningful way to honor or remember someone special. Dedications can be made for birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, musical contributions, or in memory of loved ones.

3. Memorial Plates

All Memorial plates must be hung from the tree- nothing on the ground please. Memorial plates must be purchased separately by the tree donor.

Although donors may choose their own source for a memorial plate, the maximum size is 5”x8” and must be made of a durable metal (brass, stainless steel, etc.). Brass chain to hang the plate will be provided by the Ranch.

A Ranch approved vendor (recommended) is also available that will create your personalized memorial plate. These plates are a 5”x8” oval and are made of 3/16” thick stainless steel. The images and/or lettering is laser etched directly into the metal. Contact Charlie White charlie@wmffacilities.com for details and vendor info.
