Every month, each Shared Space shop gives away £450
You or your community group or organisation can apply for funding to bring isolated or marginalised people together, help them feel more connected, and support them to take part and contribute to local community life.
Shared Space sells donated items in our charity shops to raise money to give away. Each month, a group of local Shared Space volunteers from each shop decides where that money goes.
From 2022 to 2024, more than 50% of applicants were successful.
What we typically fund
We usually fund things that benefit people on low incomes, people who are excluded, or people who are under-represented.
The money might help provide opportunities, support, activities, or a community-led campaign. We are especially interested in work that is shaped by the people it is trying to help.
You could apply for money for
Projects
We can help fund a new activity or an existing project. This could be a long-term project or a one-off activity.
Equipment and facilities
We can help fund the things or spaces you need to do your work, such as a sewing machine or room hire for a local group.
Running costs
We can help with the costs you need to keep going, such as basic supplies, bills, or other essential costs.
