The Lee-Douthit-Levine Perseverance Award was created in 2022 as a means of recognizing an AAF volunteer who despite all odds accomplished great feats while executing the voluntary responsibilities of a Local, District or National position.
Named after three extraordinary people (one from each of the three AAF Regions) who dedicated their lives to volunteerism in their communities and to the AAF, this annual honor shall be acknowledged during the Salute to Achievers event at ADMERICA.
The nominee must meet all the following criteria to be eligible:
- Nominee must be an active member in good standing of any local AAF professional chapter in good standing.
- Nominee must hold a current Local, District and/or National volunteer position.
- The letter of nomination must address the challenging situation (personal, professional or otherwise) faced during the year and the success that followed as a result of the individual’s perseverance.
- Nomination must be placed by an active member of AAF.
- Letter of nomination is good for up to two years. In the event the nominee is not chosen during the year of submission, the letter shall be considered valid for up to one additional year.
Required Information & Documentation
Nominations must include the following:
- Name and address of nominee, current title and business affiliation.
- AAF affiliation that the nominee represents (chapter, district, national).
- A summary of the significant contributions the nominee has made to the AAF.
Nominations should be typed, double-spaced and three pages or fewer and must be received by 5:00pm ET on March 20, 2026. Any letter of endorsement or support must be included as a part of the three pages.
This year’s celebration of honorees will be held during ADMERICA 2026 in Austin, TX on May 30th.
