The Raine & Horne Big Splash is an annual fundraising event to support the ongoing operating costs of Rachel’s House Trust. Proudly sponsored by Raine & Horne Real Estate. Brought to Rangiora in a fun and community focused atmosphere, held at our local Rangiora RSA Club, this event attracts local business and community group participants to take part and help us to raise the much needed funding for our Trust.
We invite ‘community minded folk’ to compete in the battle to be our ‘Splash for Cash’ Champion by raising the most money by the end of the event. Each participant dresses up to our chosen theme and ‘takes the plunge’ into a pool of freezing cold water, all in the name of charity.
The event is a great night out for locals to attend after work on a Friday night. It is an opportunity for businesses, families and friends alike to get together for a fun and entertaining night out, whilst supporting a local charity.

Rachel’s House Trust is a registered charity offering a full wrap-around service in response to the needs of parents, expectant whānau, and caregivers with young pēpi under 5 in our local community. We connect with families to provide ongoing, practical support. Our clients include māmā, papa, and their pēpi—regardless of their background. Families may be referred through agencies, medical centres, midwives, or whānau—or they can self-refer.
Referrals are only required for social-work support and food parcels; otherwise, anyone in the community is welcome to visit our Baby Hub and access free baby items, clothing, nursery furniture, and maternity equipment—no referral needed.
Our dedicated staff and volunteers walk alongside families for as long as needed, offering:
- A qualified Social Worker and a Senior Support Worker
- Weekly Play Group and Mums & Bubs Group
- Advocacy, guidance, counselling, mentoring, workshops, and one-on-one support
- Practical help accessing financial assistance, housing, education, food parcels and other services
Rachel’s House provides a visible, approachable, and empowering environment where vulnerable families are supported to live with confident hope and build a positive future for their children… for as long as it takes.
