    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Volunteers will be selected by the volunteer team of the GMC General Conference Commission in collaboration with the team leader responsible for the volunteer position. Relevant skills, experience, and references will be considered in the selection process. Members of the Global Methodist Church will be given priority over those who are not members. Individuals may apply for multiple positions.

    Please note: For some volunteer roles, it will not be possible to attend every legislative, plenary and general session; however, we will try to balance the schedule to ensure that the same volunteers will not be scheduled repeatedly during these sessions.
     

    VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES

    Volunteers are non-paid positions. All expenses relating to airfare, hotel and meals are the responsibility of the volunteer. Most breakfasts are included in the hotel. Lunches will be provided at the Sandton Convention Center August 30 - September 5. Dinner will be provided at the Sandton August 30, August 31 and September 2.

    TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

    Volunteers will be expected to arrive in Johannesburg before the day of their scheduled shift and be available until end of day on September 5, 2026, unless otherwise noted for a specific position. Volunteers will need to arrange for a departing flight from Johannesburg on September 6, 2026.

    Volunteers must use Uniglobe's travel services for making flight arrangements and will be given the opportunity to provide information to Uniglobe after their conference registration is submitted. The volunteer will receive a registration confirmation email which includes a link to a Uniglobe travel form, where they can enter their preferred travel information. Uniglobe will contact the volunteer to finalize the arrangements. 

    WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I APPLY?

    We will contact you via email if you are selected as a volunteer. 

    If you are selected, instructions will be sent to you regarding how to complete your registration and make flight and hotel reservations. You will be asked for your passport information when you register. Please make sure you have a valid passport that will not expire before December 31, 2026.
