  • Program Overview & Requirements

  • Jones Second Chance Housing (JSCH) is a structured, independent shared living program for adult men age 18 and older in New Castle County, Delaware.

    This program is designed for individuals who can live independently in a shared household environment. JSCH is not an emergency shelter, assisted living facility, medical facility, or recovery residence. Participants must be able to manage their daily living needs without on-site supervision or medical assistance.

    🏠 Program Details
    Shared and private room options are available based on availability
    Shared rooms start at $750 per month
    Private rooms start at $950 per month
    $150 one-time community fee is required before move-in
    Fully furnished housing
    Utilities included
    Wi-Fi included
    Washer and dryer access
    Household cleaning supplies
    Shared kitchen, bathroom, living areas, and other common spaces
    Security cameras in designated shared/common areas for safety and security
    Drug- and alcohol-free living environment
    Connections to community resources and supportive services through our partner network
    Security cameras are limited to designated common areas and are not located in bedrooms or bathrooms.

    ✅ Program Requirements
    Applicants must:

    Be an adult man age 18 or older
    Have verifiable income from employment, SSI, SSDI, retirement, VA benefits, unemployment benefits, pension income, or another approved source
    Be able to meet the monthly program fee and other applicable program obligations
    Be able to live independently without on-site supervision or medical assistance
    Be willing to live respectfully in a shared household environment
    Follow all house rules, program expectations, and the Code of Conduct
    Maintain a safe, respectful, drug- and alcohol-free living environment


    👥 Visitors
    To protect the privacy, safety, and comfort of everyone residing in the home, personal visitors are not permitted. This includes family members, friends, dating partners, children, and overnight guests.

    Approved professional visitors, such as case managers and authorized service providers, may visit by appointment as part of a participant's care or support plan.

    💵 Income & Financial Requirements
    Verifiable income is required before an applicant can be approved for move-in.

    ⚠️ If you do not currently have income, you may still submit an application. However, you must have a plan to obtain income or secure an approved third-party sponsor or funding source before move-in.

    Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or placement. Housing placement is based on eligibility, successful completion of the screening and onboarding process, program fit, and current availability.
