Background Check
All Volunteers 18+ with Big Brothers Big Sisters are required to undergo a background check to ensure the safety of our Littles. This background check will only include a layered check of federal, state, and local records for any criminal history, sexual offender status, Social Security Number Validation to confirm identity and a check of your motor vehicle record if applicable. It will not include any consumer or credit records. Background checks are completed through our contracted company, Integra.

In order to process your application, we must have your consent to run the Background Check. For accessability, we offer the ability to complete the Background Check authorization form electronically via email or as a hard copy we mail you which must be sent back to us for us to move forward with your application.

If you indicated that you have others 18+ living in your household, we will also ask that they fill out the Background Check Authorization Form. You will not be allowed to bring your Little into your home until all members 18+ of the household have been background checked, a home visit has been completed, and the match has been successful for at least three months.
