Virgin Voyages cruises departing from and returning to Miami are considered closed-loop cruises, meaning:
U.S. citizens can travel with:
A valid state-issued ID and an original U.S. birth certificate
However, we strongly recommend traveling with a valid U.S. passport
It is your responsible for ensuring the name on your passport is accurately reflected on your booking so the name on the booking matches your passport and any other identification or travel documents needed to travel. Your travel agent will check the validity dates on the passport to ensure you will be able to travel to your destination.

Starting May 7, 2025, the federal government will require all travelers aged 18 and over to present a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or another acceptable form of identification to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities. To ensure seamless travel experiences, please be prepared with the necessary identification.
What is a REAL ID?
A REAL ID is a state-issued driver's license or identification card that meets increased federal security standards. In Pennsylvania, REAL ID-compliant licenses are marked with a gold star in the upper right corner.
Alternative Forms of Identification:
If you prefer not to obtain a REAL ID, the following documents are also acceptable for domestic air travel and accessing federal facilities:
- U.S. Passport or Passport Card
- DHS Trusted Traveler Cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)
- U.S. Department of Defense ID (including IDs issued to dependents)
- Permanent Resident Card
