State Scientists Demand Fairness and Respect: Stop Singling Out Scientists for Defending our Rights
We, the undersigned Scientists, represented by CAPS, UAW Local 1115, stand in firm opposition to the State’s rushed and inequitable implementation of Executive Order N-22-25. We stand united in calling out Newsom’s return-to-office mandate for exactly what it is: a coordinated attack on labor and a deliberate attempt to coerce State workers into making concessions

We reject being singled out and subject to a four-day return-to-office mandate while other state workers were granted a delay in its implementation.

We demand:
- An immediate halt to the implementation of EO-N-22-25 for State Scientists
- Respect our labor rights as state workers
We refuse to accept a system where Scientists are targeted because we refuse to bend to political pressure from the Newsom Administration. We stand together against Governor Newsom’s anti-worker, anti-science tactics that are a threat to the critical scientific work Californians rely on.
