Minister Iyona Smith is a vessel called to worship through movement. For over 20 years, she has taught, mentored, and ministered across churches, conferences, and communities, using dance as a prophetic tool to teach, heal, and deliver.Beginning her dance ministry journey at just 9 years old, Iyona quickly became a sought-after voice in the praise dance community, choreographing pieces that shift atmospheres and ignite hearts for God. By age 11, she was teaching others. What began as a quiet yes to God became a regional ministry that has impacted countless worshipers throughout the Bay Area and beyond.Iyona has had the honor of ministering alongside gospel legends, touring with award-winning artists like Mary Mary, and most recently was named Liturgical Dance Artist of the Year at the 2025 Gospel Choice Music Awards. But she’s most grateful for every soul touched, every tear released, and every altar moment where God met His people through movement.She is the founder of the Unashamed Worship Dance Conference, author of the upcoming book Unashamed Worship: How God Used My Dance to Teach, Heal, and Deliver, and a passionate advocate for both spiritual and practical restoration—offering support for housing, mentorship, and leadership training.Above all, Iyona’s heart is to serve. Her desire is not to be seen but to help others see God—through every leap, every flag, every moment of surrendered praise.
