The Inland Empire’s first Nocturnists Satellites storytelling night is calling all physicians, resident physicians, medical students, and healthcare workers to pitch a true story that reflects the heart of medicine and humanity.
In dark times for our communities, we shine the light of our shared experiences through truth and connection!

Prompt Ideas: We’re reflecting on all that gets lost, and all that’s found, in the practice of medicine and the act of being human.
- Tell us about something (or someone) you lost, and what came after.
- Tell us about a time you found meaning in a place others overlook.
- Tell us about getting lost in the system or finding your way through it.
- Tell us about a belief, identity, or connection that changed.
- Tell us what this place, the Inland Empire community, has taken from you. And what it’s given back.
- You don’t have to follow these exactly. Let them spark whatever truth is yours to tell.
How to Submit: We ask you to record a 3–5 minute audio pitch of your story idea and submit it via our story portal (below). This doesn’t have to be a polished story; just speak from the heart so we can hear your voice and get a sense of the arc.
Along with your audio, please include a short written summary of your story idea (2–3 sentences)!
Please note that stories must be original and not previously published or performed.
What Happens Next: Our team will review submissions and invite a small group of finalists for a brief 15-minute Zoom chat. This will help us learn more about your story and why it matters to you, ensure availability for the coaching process, and get a feel for your voice and presence.
We will then select 5-6 storytellers to work with a coach and develop their story for the live performance in November 2025.
