    Credits are approved by the APA, NBCC, PA SW/LPC/MFT, and/or ACT 48 or PQAS for eligible recipients. Number of credit hours is based upon verified attendance and successful completion of post-tests (80% minimum) and submission of course evaluations.

    Child Guidance Resource Centers (CGRC) is approved by the American Psychological Association, National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc., the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (ACT 48) to award continuing education credits to eligible participants.

    The course format will include a PowerPoint Presentation combined with interactive exercises and case studies. Link to Home Study Course will be sent within 24 Hours of Course Registration. Zoom Link for Live Webinars will be sent one week prior to course date.

    Course Objectives

    Part 1: Theoretical and Ethical Foundations 

    1. Understand Core Theoretical Principles: Articulate the foundational theories of psychodrama and drama therapies and their relevance to clinical practice, with an emphasis on the importance of creating and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.
    2. Apply Ethical Guidelines: Identify and apply ethical considerations specific to using psychodramatic techniques without formal credentialing, ensuring alignment with professional codes of conduct and client safety standards
    3. Implement Safety Strategies: Develop and integrate specific strategies to assess, establish, and maintain emotional and physical safety for clients when utilizing psychodramatic methods within a therapeutic context.
    4. Understand the Role of the Clinician in Psychodrama-Informed Interventions: Participants will differentiate between using psychodrama techniques as tools within their professional scope versus fully facilitating a psychodrama session, ensuring they remain within ethical boundaries.
    5. Gain self-awareness about own readiness and boundaries when using these techniques: Participants will recognize when a situation might require referral to a fully trained Psychodramatist.

    Part 2: Application and Practice (Completion of Part 1 is a Pre-Requisite)

    1. Integrate Psychodrama Techniques into Clinical Practice: Identify and implement specific psychodrama techniques, such as role-play, doubling, and the empty chair, in a way that aligns with client needs and therapeutic goals.
    2. Adapt Psychodramatic Methods to Diverse Client Populations: Tailor psychodramatic interventions to meet the developmental, cultural, and emotional needs of various client populations, ensuring inclusivity and relevance in practice.
    3. Maintain Safety and Ethical Standards: Assess and support emotional and physical safety during psychodrama interventions, adhering to ethical guidelines and professional boundaries.
    4. Strengthen Understanding of the Role of the Clinician in Psychodrama-Informed Interventions: Clarify the use of psychodrama techniques within one's professional scope to ensure participants remain within ethical boundaries.
    5. Self-Reflection and Debriefing Practices: Learn to evaluate effectiveness and adjust one's approach as necessary.
