Reiki is an ancient Japanese energy healing practice that promotes deep relaxation and stress reduction, thereby enhancing overall well-being and the body's innate self-healing ability.
Theory of Treatment of Reiki
Reiki is rooted in the belief that life force energy (often called "ki" or "chi") flows through all living things and is responsible for maintaining balance and health in the body, mind, and spirit. Reiki practitioners believe that when this energy is blocked or disrupted, it can lead to physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances, which may manifest as illness, stress, or discomfort. Reiki aims to restore the free flow of this life force energy, facilitating the body's natural relaxation response and self-healing processes. Reiki does not target specific symptoms. Instead, it is believed to address the whole person-body, mind, emotions, and spirit-aiming to restore overall balance and well-being.
Nature of Services Provided During a Intuitive and/or Reiki Session
During a Reiki session, the client is invited to lie down fully clothed on a comfortable treatment table, or to sit in a chair, in a calm and soothing environment.
The session begins with a brief consultation where the practitioner and client discuss the client's needs or areas of concern. Once settled, the practitioner gently hovers their hands above specific areas of the client's body, channeling life force energy to those areas. Common hand positions include over the head, shoulders, abdomen, and feet, but the positions can vary depending on the client's needs. Occasionally, if guided to do so, the practitioner will ask permission to gently place their hands on the client's shoulders, hands or feet, but only in a manner acceptable to the client. The hand positions are gentle and non-invasive, and the touch is light or hovering. There is no physical manipulation involved.
