Planet Bee Pollinator Habitat Program (PHP): Program Application

This program has been made possible by CDFA and is being administered by Planet Bee to create, monitor, and maintain healthy, productive, and sustainable agricultural ecosystems by maximizing the health and diversity of their beneficial insect populations. 

Projects with planting areas greater than 10 acres are currently being considered.

Through this program, Planet Bee will:

• Assist farmers in creating pollinator friendly habitats
• Offer education on the impact of increased pollinator populations on farm productivity, and techniques to monitor and collect pollinator population data
• Provide native bee nest homes to your farm or ranch
• Administer the implementation phase of this program for three years from 2023-2026, and deliver followup monitoring data to CDFA as required through 2029.

CDFA's PHP grant has a requirement that projects must be located on a California agricultural operation. For the purpose of this program, an agricultural operation is defined as those conducting row, vineyard, field, or tree crop production, nursery stock production, and livestock production operations. Commercial nurseries are also classified as agricultural operations.
