Applications will be reviewed as they are received. The final date to submit is AUGUST 15th 2025.
PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING INFO CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION:
-This is a winter festival that takes place in approximately 14 mostly indoor venues around the downtown core of the small community of Cumberland, BC on the unceded traditional territory of the Puntledge, E'iksan and K'ómoks peoples.
-Artists can apply to present live music, dance, workshops, kids performances, installation art, theatre, stand-up comedy, and any other art form. Artisans interested in the artisan market can apply through a separate application shortly.
-Booking for this festival is done through a booking committee who all review the applications. This process is in place to ensure that our line-up represents the diverse tastes of our audience. The booking process takes place from August-October. We will not necessarily be able to contact artists if their application is not successfully, but please apply again next year as we do switch up the line-up!
-The venues range from community halls and established venues to small businesses that turn their shopfront into a venue for the weekend.
-Due to this variety we ask artists who perform to be flexible in their needs and requirements. For example, we cannot guarantee a green room at each venue and you may need to be in the audience area pre-show. The integration of artists and audience is what leads to many magical moments at this event.
-Each venue at this event differs in what kind of acts it can accomodate, so it is really important to apply with the line-up for your act that you would be planning to attend with. We cannot necessarily accomodate changes in instrumentation or other requirements for an act after they are booked (for example, not all venues can accomodate a drum kit).
-LIVE VIDEO IS KEY! This is a live music event, so want to know what live performance is like! Please submit a live performance video with your application if possible to increase your chances of being considered to perform at the event. This does not need to be super high production value, just something that shows what you do on stage.
TOURING ARTISTS are mostly billeted with local community members of the Comox Valley for accomodation, and billets get weekend passes in exchange for hosting artists.
LOCAL ARTISTS- We love the amazing local performers who make this arts community so special. We are, however, getting more applications each year. We encourage all local performers to apply. We may, however, need to prioritize space for artists who did not perform at the event last year and are actively touring and releasing material.
