  • From field to fabric: The magic of natural dyes and ecoprinting

    August 19, 5:30-7pm
  • Image-31
  • Did you know you could take your everyday food scraps and turn them into vibrant colors without all the toxins in chemical dyes? In this workshop, you will learn a brief history of using natural dyes, a little science through the process, and then start your own experimentation. We will work with both natural dyebaths from food scraps, as well as ecoprinting from deadheaded flowers. There are many ways to manipulate the fabric and dye to achieve the rainbow.

We will provide a linen kitchen towel, but feel free to bring your old stained white tee (or any white fabric piece) and we'll turn it into something new. The beauty of natural dye comes from the colors reflected in the environment around you- from the kitchen to the garden!  This workshop is a fun one for kids too, so bring the family!

*Please wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind potentially splattering with dye. We will be indoors if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Workshop will be held at 91 E. Little Ave, Driggs

  • NOTE: We are asking for a minimum donation of $30 for this workshop. We are grateful if you choose to donate more to support our programs.
