Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability, and Exculpation Agreement

Please read the following statements and check the box below.
PARTIES TO AGREEMENT. In consideration of the services of Watershed Schoolhouse, a project of Stepping Stones Project, Inc., their agents, owners, officers, volunteers, participants, employees, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (hereinafter Watershed Schoolhouse), I agree to release, indemnify, and discharge Watershed Schoolhouse, on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate as follows:

ASSUMPTION OF RISK. I acknowledge that my participation in Watershed Schoolhouse’s educational program(s) entails known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to myself, to property, or to third parties. While reasonable measures can be taken to prioritize safety, I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activities, including, but not limited to, time outdoors, time with fire, fishing, swimming, cooking, working with tools and cutting tools, etc. Furthermore, Watershed Schoolhouse employees have difficult jobs to perform. They seek safety, but they are not infallible. They might be unaware of a participant's fitness or abilities. They might misjudge the weather, the elements, or the terrain. They may give inadequate warnings or instructions, and the equipment being used might malfunction. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks existing in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY. I hereby voluntarily release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and holds harmless Watershed Schoolhouse from all liability to me and my principals, employees, agents, attorneys, representatives, guardians, successors, assigns, heirs, children, and next of kin for all liability, claims, damage, or demands for sickness, personal injury, death, or property damage, arising from or related to this Agreement or to participating in Watershed Schoolhouse’s programs, whether the sickness, injury, death, or property damage occurs on or off the premises, or before, during, or after participating in Watershed Schoolhouse’s programs. This Agreement and release includes, without limitation to, any sickness, personal injury, death, or property damage caused by the active or passive negligence of any of the Watershed Schoolhouse. I bear sole responsibility for any loss.

ARBITRATION. If a dispute arises between the parties regarding or concerning this Agreement or its terms, the matter must be submitted to binding arbitration. All disputes will be handled and considered according to California law.

ADDITIONAL PARENT'S OR GUARDIANS INDEMNIFICATION. In consideration of my child/children/the Minor listed in the General Information section of this agreement being permitted by Watershed Schoolhouse to participate in its activities and to use its equipment and facilities, I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Watershed Schoolhouse from any and all claims which are brought by, or on behalf of Minor, and which are in any way connected with such use or participation by Minor. By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged during my participation in this activity, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against Watershed Schoolhouse on the basis of any claim from which I have released them herein. I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I have read and understood it, and I agree to be bound by its terms.

I agree that if any portion of this agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
AFFIRMATION*

By checking this box and signing at the end of this document, I affirm that I have read, understand, and agree to the above Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability, and Exculpation Agreement.
MEDIA RELEASE, WAIVER & CONSENT
The following is a media release, waiver and consent form. Unlike the above forms, your consent here is optional, and does not affect enrollment. Please note that photographs, recordings, etc., are intended to be minimal, and both taken and used with the utmost discretion. They are used to both share the story of what is happening with enrolled families, as well as to generate awareness and support, financial and otherwise, for Watershed Schoolhouse. Please also note, Watershed Schoolhouse does not currently have or use social media accounts.

TUITION & PAYMENT INFORMATION
The Tributaries Program is based on a set fee for the year. Families can choose to pay the remainder of their tuition in one, two, or nine (monthly) payments.

ONE PAYMENT: $2400 (includes 5% discount)
Due by August 1, 2025

TWO PAYMENTS: $1235 each (includes 2% discount)
Payment 1: Due by August 1, 2025
Payment 2: Due by January 1, 2026

NINE PAYMENTS: $280 per month
Payments due by the 1st of each month (August-April).
Payments received after the 5th will incur a $50 late fee per month.
Postdated checks are welcome.

AUTOPAY (Monthly) (Credit Card only): $294 (includes additional 5% credit card processing fee). Families wishing to autopay via credit card will receive a subscription invoice at the start of August.

Please note: Any payments made with credit card will incur an additional 5% processing fee.

*If this tuition represents a financial barrier to participation for your family, please reach out to admin@watershedschoolhouse.org to explore options. No one will be turned away for lack of funds, and all families are asked to contribute meaningfully toward the school.

CHARTER SCHOOL VENDOR FUNDS
At this time, Watershed Schoolhouse is in the process of applying to become a vendor with Lake View Charter and CORE Butte Charter. Watershed Schoolhouse will reach out with additional information when it becomes available. Please note, Watershed Schoolhouse cannot guarantee acceptance as a vendor/community partner with these schools. Families choosing to enroll in the Tributaries Program are agreeing to assume the financial commitment of tuition, regardless of the vendor status of the program.
CHARTER SCHOOL VENDOR FUNDS

If you are enrolled with one of these schools and wish to use your vendor funds toward the Tributaries Program, please check the box and you will be notified with updates in the coming months.
REFUND POLICY

All deposits and application fees are non-refundable. Due to budgeting and hiring cycles, tuition payments are non-refundable except in extenuating circumstances. In extenuating circumstances there is the option, at the sole discretion of Watershed Schoolhouse, for a pro-rated refund based on the portion of the school year enrolled, less a 20% withdrawal fee based on the remaining portion of unpaid tuition.
HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE

While medical information is gathered for emergency situations and the health and safety of the children, immunization records are to be kept by each individual family, in accordance with CA homeschool law.
