  • The Partnership for Large Election Jurisdictions (PLEJ), a nonpartisan nonprofit, offers large jurisdictions a community of support, access to best practices, and a stronger platform for making change with peers from similarly sized jurisdictions. Our members—which oversee elections for over 125 million Americans across 38 states and DC—face the greatest scrutiny, logistical burdens, and highest stakes.

  • Membership Types

  • Jurisidictional Members: Election professionals representing jurisdictions of 250,000 people or more, or any of the four largest jurisdictions in a U.S. state or territory may join as full PLEJ members. Jurisdictional membership ($175 for the year) provides access to PLEJ’s Member Benefits for the entire office.

    Individual Members: These members join in their individual capacity to take advantage of PLEJ’s professional development offerings and expand their networks as well as gain knowledge about large jurisdiction needs. Individual membership ($175 for the year) is open to the following categories of individuals:

    • Current or former election officials from PLEJ-eligible jurisdictions;
    • Current election officials from jurisdictions in a U.S. state or territory with a population between 249,999 and 200,000;
    • State election association leaders (e.g., President/Vice President, CEO, Executive Directors of state clerk/election director/registrar associations); and
    • Professionals in PLEJ-eligible jurisdictions who perform election-related work that supports local election office operations, but who are not employed in the election office (e.g., communications, outreach, etc.)
