    • General Information 
    • Background of the ACLC Medal of Merit:

      The Army Cadet Medal of Merit marks a significant update to the Army Cadet League of Canada's (ACLC) awards, reflecting the dynamic spirit of today's Army Cadet Program. This prestigious medal honours exceptional youth for their dedication and recognizes the inspiring leaders of the League.

      Starting in 2025, the League aims to recognize nearly 130 outstanding Army Cadets annually, highlighting those who embody the values of the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Program, particularly during their Silver, Gold, and Advanced learning levels.

      It proudly carries forward the legacy of League members and volunteers committed to shaping the future of Canada’s youth.

      The criteria for the Roger Medal of Merit are:

      • An Army Cadet who has completed Silver Star in the nominating training year;
      • Achieved the minimum rank of Master Corporal;
      • Be nominated by the Corps Commanding Officer, the Support Committee, and the Corps' most senior cadet.

      The criteria for the Howard Medal of Merit are:

      • An Army Cadet who has completed a Gold Star in the nominating training year;
      • Achieved the minimum rank of Warrant Officer;
      • Be nominated by the Corps Support Committee Chair, the Corps Commanding Officer, and the Corps' most senior Cadet;

      Nomination packages shall consist of:

      1. Cadet Training Records (Cadet Information Card with redacted personal information if           required) and;

      2. Letter of nomination that demonstrates how the nominee fulfills all criteria by:

      a) Support Committee chairperson

      b) Commanding Officer

      c) Corps' most senior Army Cadet 

      *One combined letter signed by all three nominators may be acceptable.

      **Please upload one PDF document that includes the three nomination letters and the cadet fortress card

      The nomination letter should highlight:

      •Attendance and participation

      •Community service and good citizenship

      •Promotes healthy living, mental and physical well-being

      •Thorough grasp of Army Cadet training and skills

      •Leadership

      •Dress and deportment

      •Communication
