FOSTER to ADOPT CARE AGREEMENT

I agree to temporary foster the following animal (hereinafter called, "Animal") from Bossy Paws Rescue INC. I agree to abide by the following conditions whenever fostering any animals for Bossy Paws Rescue Inc.

Foster-to-Adopt Agreement Terms and Conditions

As a Foster-to-Adopt Family (“Foster”), I/we hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions set forth by Bossy Paws Rescue (“the Rescue”):

• Identification of Foster Animal
  • I/we understand that the animal currently in my/our care is referred to by the name assigned by Bossy Paws Rescue for the purposes of record-keeping, veterinary appointments, public postings, and internal documentation.
  • I/we agree to refer to the animal by this name during the foster period.
• Premises Visitation
  • I/we agree to allow a designated representative of Bossy Paws Rescue to visit my/our home, with reasonable notice, to verify compliance with the terms of this agreement.
• Quarantine Period
  • I/we agree to keep the foster animal(s) physically separated from other household pets for a minimum period of fourteen (14) days following placement to allow for proper adjustment, observation, and health monitoring.
• Fostering Exclusivity
  • I/we agree that while actively fostering an animal on behalf of Bossy Paws Rescue, I/we shall not concurrently foster animals from other rescue organizations, shelters, or private individuals without prior written approval from Bossy Paws Rescue.
• Guardianship Acknowledgment
  • I/we acknowledge that the foster animal remains under the legal guardianship and ownership of Bossy Paws Rescue until the adoption is finalized.
  • I/we understand that I/we bear full responsibility for the animal’s care and safety during the foster period.
• Communication Requirements
  • I/we agree to provide weekly updates and photographs to the assigned Bossy Paws Rescue coordinator.
  • I/we agree to respond to any communication from Bossy Paws Rescue within twenty-four (24) hours.
• Containment and Transport
  • I/we agree that foster cats or kittens shall not be allowed outdoors at any time, except for transportation to and from approved veterinary appointments or the rescue’s facilities.
  • I/we agree to transport cats/kittens exclusively in a secure, sturdy pet carrier and all animals in an enclosed vehicle (e.g., not in truck beds or open-air transport).
• Medical Care and Reporting
  • I/we agree to immediately notify Bossy Paws Rescue if the foster animal exhibits signs of illness or injury, including but not limited to: sneezing, nasal or ocular discharge, lethargy, limping, litter box irregularities, visible parasites, blood in stool/urine, or changes in appetite or behavior.
  • I/we understand that only medical expenses approved in advance by Bossy Paws Rescue and administered through an authorized veterinary provider will be covered by the Rescue. Expenses incurred at unauthorized clinics or veterinary offices will not be reimbursed.
• Veterinary Appointments
  • I/we agree to ensure the animal is transported to all required veterinary appointments as scheduled by Bossy Paws Rescue.
  • I/we understand that failure to attend a scheduled appointment without providing at least 24 hours’ notice may result in a $35 missed appointment fee, which I/we agree to pay in full.
  • I/we acknowledge responsibility for maintaining the vaccination schedule for the foster animal and agree to contact Bossy Paws Rescue at least seven (7) days prior to any known due dates to request an appointment.
• Care and Treatment Standards
  • I/we agree to provide the foster animal with adequate food, clean water, appropriate shelter, and compassionate care at all times. I/we will comply with all applicable local and state animal welfare laws.
• Socialization and Handling
  • I/we agree to regularly interact with the foster animal(s) to promote positive socialization, including gentle play, safe handling, and appropriate human interaction.
• Public Events and Outings
  • I/we agree not to bring any foster animal to dog parks, public events, or communal pet areas without the express prior written approval of Bossy Paws Rescue.
• Program-Specific Terms
  • I/we understand that the Foster-to-Adopt program is limited in use and is offered at the discretion of Bossy Paws Rescue. Under this program, I/we agree to provide all necessary supplies for the foster animal, including food, litter, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and any other care-related items, unless otherwise specified in writing by the Rescue.
• Adoption Finalization
  • I/we understand that the foster arrangement shall convert to an official adoption only after the animal has been spayed or neutered and all required medical documentation has been received and approved by Bossy Paws Rescue. At that time, the animal shall be considered legally adopted, and the foster family will assume all rights and responsibilities of ownership. Until that time, the animal remains the sole property of Bossy Paws Rescue.

I/We acknowledge that I/we have read and fully understand the Bossy Paws Rescue Foster-to-Adopt Care Agreement, including all foster guidelines and responsibilities therein. I/we understand that by accepting an animal into my/our home under the Foster-to-Adopt program, I/we are acting as temporary custodians of said animal until the completion of the mandatory spay or neuter procedure, as outlined by Bossy Paws Rescue.

I/We acknowledge and accept that Bossy Paws Rescue cannot be held liable for any injuries, damages, accidents, or other incidents that may occur in connection with the animal—whether inside or outside the home or at any other location. Furthermore, I/we understand that Bossy Paws Rescue makes no guarantees, either expressed or implied, regarding the animal’s health, temperament, or behavior. All known information about the animal has been disclosed to me/us to the best of the rescue's knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the required spay or neuter procedure, and once any necessary documentation is returned to Bossy Paws Rescue, the animal shall be deemed officially adopted, and I/we will no longer be considered foster caregivers but legal adopters. At that point, all rights and responsibilities associated with pet ownership shall transfer to me/us, and the foster relationship shall be terminated.

I/We agree to ensure that the animal is brought to all scheduled veterinary appointments arranged through Bossy Paws Rescue. I/We understand that failure to attend a required appointment without adequate notice may result in a missed appointment fee, which I/we agree to pay in full.

Additionally, I/we agree to hold harmless and release from liability the previous owner(s), Bossy Paws Rescue, and any of its officers, directors, volunteers, agents, or representatives for any claims, damages, or injuries arising out of or related to the care, custody, or control of the foster animal. I/We understand that Bossy Paws Rescue reserves the right to reclaim the animal at any time should the terms of this agreement be violated, or if there is evidence or suspicion of mistreatment or neglect.

By signing below, I/we affirm that I/we have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to abide by all terms and conditions of this agreement.
