Note: If you register for a training date after the registration has closed, you may not be approved and able to attend. All trainings will be held via zoom. Attendees must attend both days of training. Please note that a minimum number of participants will be required for each session to be held.

Description: The Teaching Pyramid Observations Tool (TPOT) for Preschool Classrooms is an instrument designed to measure practitioners' implementation of teaching and behavior support practices associated with the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children. This training will prepare coaches to use the TPOT tool with fidelity while observing teachers. Participants are required to pass a reliability test before receiving their certificate.

Prerequisites:

Participants must have attended the Preschool EC-PBIS Module Series
Participants Must be working with or for a program that is implementing program-wide EC-PBIS (please contact your PD organization if you have questions)

Note: If you do not meet these prerequisites, you will recieve a follow-up email and may not be approved for the training or selected training dates.

Learning Objectives:

Learn about the TPOT, a measure for examining the level of support provided by classroom teachers for preschool social-emotional learning
View and score video examples of teacher behaviors that support the social-emotional development of preschoolers
Have the opportunity to meet certification standards for carrying out and scoring TPOT assessments.

Each coach needs their own TPOT manual to complete this training. Do you have your own copy of the TPOT manual? If you select yes, we will only send the scoring booklets to be utilized during training and no manual.

Each coach will receive a copy Unpacking the Pyramid Model: A Practical Guide for Preschool Teachers. Do you have your own copy of this book? If you select yes, we will NOT send this book.
