EXHIBITION THEME: Home Sweet Home

I understand I am applying to "Arts & Rec" a City of Lakeland, Parks & Recreation Department, program to provide exposure to art in its Recreation facilities September 22, 2025 – January 18, 2026.

This exhibition will be hosted and organized in partnership with Art Crawl, Inc. - a Lakeland-based nonprofit organization serving as a catalyst to celebrate the emergence of new and innovative artists in Central Florida. (No vendors, agents, or dealers.) I understand that this application is for the possible inclusion of my original work (no prints or copies), and my artwork is to represent my own voice (no copied or copyright images). 

Artwork must be prepared or able to be prepared for hanging with appropriate WIRE and WIRE mounting hardware installed for consideration. The City will provide name plaques for each piece, which will include artist information and options on how to purchase the artwork directly.

I further understand artwork will be chosen for the exhibition based on theme, originality, skill, the appearance of the artist's voice, visual impact, quality, and physical exhibition space. Additionally, artwork must be in good taste and mindful of the exhibition's intent and community’s standards. Profanity, obscenity or objectionable material will not be accepted.

This application does not guarantee the inclusion of any work in the exhibition.

I understand there is no exhibition or commission fee, if chosen. Artists may submit up to two pieces for consideration per application.

AGREEMENT

By clicking 'Submit' below, I agree that I have read and agree to the terms outlined in the "Arts and Rec Artist Agreement" and the disclaimer below.

The City of Lakeland agrees to provide insurance coverage for artwork(s) while on exhibit. While care will be taken to ensure that all art accepted will be handled in such a manner that no damage is incurred, it should be understood those responsible for preparing the art for exhibit will not be held responsible for any damage that might occur. (Specifically due to poor frame or hanging hardware on artwork.)

The City of Lakeland will not be responsible for or pay any claims for loss or damage in excess of the listed value as noted "Sale Amount" and supported by a qualified appraisal. Arrangement for delivery and pick-up of the work shall be the responsibility of the artist.

The City of Lakeland and its partner Art Crawl, Inc., shall be allowed to photograph the artwork(s) as it deems proper for promotion and documentation of the exhibitions.
