๐ญโ๏ธ Join us this fall and spring for a rich and engaging journey through drama, literature, and the creative arts in our yearlong English course: Ink & Insight: Stage & Story Through the Arts! Students will explore Shakespeareโs plays alongside powerful contemporary and classic works like The Outsiders, Among the Hidden, and Chasing Lincolnโs Killer.
๐ Read & analyze texts including Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew, and A Midsummer Nightโs Dream
๐ Explore paired literature like The Outsiders, Among the Hidden, and Chasing Lincolnโs Killer
โ๏ธ Develop narrative, analytical, and argumentative writing
๐ญ Bring literature to life through performance, dramatic readings, and staging
๐จ Create fine arts projects and respond to literature through multiple mediums
From love and rebellion to identity and power, students will connect timeless themes across genres while sharpening their reading, writing, and creative skills.
Over the course of 30 classes (Wednesday, 1.5 hours each), students will:
๐ Read & Discuss Romeo and Juliet and Julius Caesar
โ๏ธ Strengthen narrative, analytical, and creative writing
๐ญ Explore drama through performance, script work, and staging
๐จ Create visual and theatrical art connected to the plays
๐ Engage in mini-performances, debates, and creative expression
