Apply now to perform in the Le Salon de Musique Recital Series & Competition!

Applying to perform in the recital series automatically enters you into Le Salon de Musique Competition. We welcome chamber groups, vocalists, pianists, any classical instrumentalist, and ensembles of any size- duos, trios, quartets, etc.

Le Salon de Musique Recital Series is a monthly recital series held in intimate venues throughout Utah, including people's homes. Selected applicants will have the chance to curate their own 25-minute program, with staff approval. Each recital will be comprised of two 25-minute programs from two seperate applicants. Works longer than 25 minutes will be considered on a case-by-case basis; please contact us for more information.

Performance & Application Cycles:

Our season runs in two cycles:
- Cycle 1: September-December
- Cycle 2: January-May
Deadline for cycle 1 applications is September 15, 2025.

Deadline for cycle 2 applications is December 15, 2025.

*Note: we are only accepting applciations for cycle 1 at this time. Cycle 2 applications will begin after September 15, 2025.

Competition:

Your application into the recital series also doubles as an entry into the annual competition. The winner will be announced in May, 2026.

Prizes are as follows:
- First Place: $1250 + perform in the Winner's Recital, receive professional video recording
- Second Place: TBD cash amount + perform in the Winner's Recital, receive professional video recording
- Third Place: TBD cash amount + perform in the Winner's Recital, receive professional video recording
Applicant Requirements:

Applicants must be 30 years or younger within the calendar year. Applicants must be currently residing in the United States.

Selected applicants must arrange their own travel to and from Utah.

Required Audition Materials:

All applicants, regardless of instrument or ensemble size, should submit 2-3 contrasting pieces via youtube link. Vocalists should include at least one operatic aria. Musical theater pieces will not be considered.

Audition video lengths should not exceed 90 minutes for instrumentalists and 20 minutes for vocalists.

What's next?

Applicants will be notified with admission decision within 4 weeks of their application submission. If accepted, applicants and staff will work together to pick a performance date and curate a program.
