About the Show:
Deuce is a sharp, witty, and emotionally resonant play by four-time Tony Award-winner Terrence McNally. The story centers on two former tennis champions who reunite at Wimbledon to reflect on their shared history, legacy, and the game they once ruled. With a small but dynamic cast, the play explores themes of friendship, rivalry, aging, and identity.

Roles Available:
Leona Mullen (Female, 60s–70s)
Tough, outspoken, and sharp-tongued. A realist who hides vulnerability beneath her sarcasm.
Midge Barker (Female, 60s–70s)
Elegant, thoughtful, and emotionally open. The optimistic counterbalance to Leona’s edge.
Kelly Short (Female/Male, 30s–50s)
A flashy sports commentator. Quick-witted and superficial, full of energy and charisma.
Ryan Becker (Male, 30s–50s)
Kelly’s co-commentator. Slightly more grounded but equally polished and performative.
An Admirer (Male, 20s–30s)
A devoted tennis fan who delivers a moving tribute to the women.
What to Prepare:
You will have two minutes to present one monologue or two contrasting monologues.
Cold readings from the script will be provided.
Please bring a headshot and résumé, if available.
Come dressed comfortably and ready to read in character.
Video Submissions:
Though it is best to audition in person, IRT is accepting video submissions. Please upload your video on YouTube and paste the link in the space provided at the bottom of this form. Please adhere to the same time limit restrictions as in-person auditions.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsals will begin August 4, 2025, and will be held at Pyramid Studios. Most rehearsals will take place during weekday evenings and occasional weekends.
